I want to get the Cobalt blue vinyl of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers' Angel Dream that drops on Saturday, but we are heading out of town early for my mother-in-law's retirement party. I hope they don't sell out of them and I can grab one on Sunday. If anyone knows of somewhere that might have them online, let me know (though I think it's strictly an in-store, first-come, first-served kind of thing.

    Two from Bandcamp arrived today:

ETHEREALITY by PASTEL GHOST (Limited Edition Clear Vinyl / 500 copies)

ABYSS by PASTEL GHOST (Limited Edition Blue/Purple Haze Vinyl / 100 copies)

Found her by accident while looking at the Cleopatra page on BC. Love the music.

Happy Record Store Day hunts to those goin' for it this year.

I'm only getting out for Deftones and Thrice so I'm not expecting too hard of a fight. I was all about the Rage live album until i read somewhere that they pressed the censored dvd audio rather a new master or anything so I'm not even going to bother with that.

of course I read this now about the Rage album. balls.

Grabbed the Mark Lanegan Band and the Stillwater as well.

Could not justify $43 for one song on the Tomb Raider soundtrack.

$43!? Man that fucker was a whopping $60 here in KC. One of the most insane RSD release tag prices I've seen yet. To my knowledge it's just a standard gatefold with gold (guessing gonna be that ugly flat bronze color) records.

Just looked it up on Discogs and it is indeed the shit brown bronze. I am genuinely curious what song's licensing rights on that soundtrack warrant that high of a price tag. Surely it's not Deep, and it can't be the U2 track considering how many times ATYCLB was reissued in the last few years, maybe the Missy Elliot track, but even then...60??!

I swear as much as love to talk shit on RSD every year, there are so many aspects of it that are so fascinating. Record execs putting high price tags on releases that have no cultural impact or relevance is always the best.

What you may be neglecting to take into account is the cover the album and just how horny some people are for her.

damn it all to hell. They had two copies of the Beck album and they both sold within the last 15 minutes, just in time for the 8:00 deadline where I could have bought one. fudge.

wait...everything that was in stock - four pages worth - is all sold out and it's only just 8PM EDT? I'm more than a little wary of that suddenness.

Just got it on Plaid Room GO GO GO

    https://www.plaidroomrecords.com/products/tom-petty-the-heartbreakers-angel-dream-music-from-the-motion-picture-shes-the-one?_pos=9&_sid=484ce5acf&_ss=r

Edit: Rough Trade NYC will have their RSD inventory online on Monday 12pm Eastern / 11am Central

    https://www.roughtrade.com/us/tom-pe...-she-s-the-one

Plaid Room got over 550 copies, 530ish were still available as of 8pm....down to 482 as of 8:16pm. RT is pretty high profile so I bet they'll have some on Monday. Hopefully you can score one between those two places.

The Drip - The Haunting Fear of Inevitability

Not sure if it's because it's out of the way, but a store by me still had plenty of RSD stuff late afternoon yesterday. Two copies of Tomb Raider, Thrice, and Deftones were the ones I noticed but there was a ton of stuff in their display.

Thanks, was actually able to go back to the Plaid room store and grab their last Deftones copy as well as Cure Faith. Those Police records aren't available anymore on eil so I'll swing out a local shop and see (but doubtful). Was also hoping to grab the pink Garbage album. Not bad if those are the only things I couldn't snag though!

This past week has been terrible on my bank account. And this doesn't even include the 5LP LCD Soundsystem boxset I pre-ordered yesterday.

I didn't even know this had a vinyl release so imagine my surprise when I walked into the hole-in-the-wall vinyl shop here in town and this was right up front.

I don't care how weird it makes me look but outside of their one hit wonderness (and King of the Hill theme song) this album was great. Real Texas charm to it when there was such a thing in the world. Love the whole albumb top to bottom.

Sadly the actual album I went in there for was fine. Guess that's what happens when you wait and think oh it'll still be there, I'll get it next trip. D'oh.

Such a good album but... the two copies I had both had manufacturing defects on side B... so... I hope you don't have any but be aware. Generally speaking, I'm not a fan of Universal releases from around that time frame... very poor quality control.

Oh my boy Gordon? He's a new school type cat but he's old at heart. He'll throw on some Nilsson or Neil Young in the morning while having his morning cup, then switch it over to some Daughters or Danny Brown later in the day. He's actually introduced me to a few newer bands I would've never come across on my own, like Drab Majesty and Cold Cave. He also likes to shit on the floor when his litter box is full.

They're reissuing that "final" show boxset next month. Oddly I just went to look for it and it got pulled, but my order is still processing so I guess we'll see. I think some sellers jumped the gun and listed it too early and it will be put back up once DFA or the band officially announces it.
