I kinda think so. I'd need to watch the video again. Buuut...

Edit: Rewatched it. Definitely have to sacrifice the jacket.

How are people receiving Lost Highway copies when my preorder on Amazon is listing a January release date? Sup with that?

which color did you choose? i got the black, not the yellow.
also, the black is currently "temporarily out of stock" on amazon.com

@raptors661 i found that my copy wasn't actually that bad. there were a few spots where, on each roundabout, there was a pop, but they didn't last very long. the general background surface noise was barely noticeable, especially compared to some mondo releases.

Haha late to the party as always, just saw the Fight Club thing, that looks absolutely amazing. I'll check local stockists on the off-chance Tomorrow but it's virtually impossible that they have one.

I bought 3x green IKEA Kallax doors today. I'll open and assemble one, giving it a good check-over to see how hackable it might be, and could then return at least the other two if it isn't going to work out. I checked it out in store too, I was a little surprised how proud the hinges are, I might have to put something over them to reduce the risk of damage to sleeves (seems that there isn't 12" clearance behind them?)

I have the biggest difficulties with Mondo. Their stuff always looks incredible. They're doing a Gremlins release which reacts to water and sunlight, which looks insane.

I've reached a place where if I can't instantly recall the score from the given release I generally have to hold myself back from buying it purely on the aesthetic of the release (I'd have bought Fight Club but can't for the life of me recall the music). Also Gremlins sounded way more honky than I remember when I listened to the main theme last night!!

oh, the fight club score is truly fantastic. i used to listen to that CD all the time and i'm sad i didn't have the money to throw down for this vinyl release because it looks so gorgeous.
@jmtd hope they work out for you! and yeah, the hinges stick out pretty far. it's too bad they don't pre-fab insets for them to slot into in the sides, but i guess then it would be harder to customize where you actually want the doors and which way you want them to face.

I'm sure it is great, I just can't remember it ha. I'll dig it out and have a look. Mondo will be doing a repress according to Twitter.

Is this a pretty common issue with Mondo releases? The only album I've got from them is one of the Studio Ghibli comps they put out and although the music is beautiful, the album itself sounds awful. Static, pops, clicks and all sorts of noise. At first, I thought it just needed a good cleaning, but even after that and played on a table w/ a brand new stylus, the thing still sounds rough. I'm always tempted by their releases, but weary for this reason.

Every single release I have from them has static and pops, some way more than others. I think my Jurassic World is the cleanest sounding copy.

I placed my preorder through Amazon and when I ordered it the listing said black vinyl. I received the yellow vinyl to my delight!

I'm thinking of throwing some vinyl cleaning solution (brushes or whatever) onto my christmas list to help relatives out with gift ideas. Do you guys have any favourites?

    arrived on thursday, played today:

if these trees could talk - the bones of a dying world
2xLP on black vinyl w/etched side D & embossed jacket
    their best album yet
we listened to it while reading today and, when it was over, my wife (who's reading The Secret History Of Twin Peaks book) said, "that was so nice to listen to while we read together."

I agree, the Dust Bros. work on this one is phenom. That last track with Tyler Durdan narrating the Fight Club creed is one of the greatest things ever..
also have to buy x-mas presents for friends and family, and i've already gone WAY over my usual monthly budget for vinyl in november.

    150g black
not quite as good (as a whole) as their newer album, but still fantastic
glad i didn't have to pay TOO much for it (got it for $50 including shipping) since people are really gouging for this one

OK so I got a look at the Ikea KALLAX draw insert! I reckon I can mount the door directly into my expedit "frame" and not need to use the side/rear bits at all... which means they are free to be chopped up and made into a narrower door for the top compartment - this means I only need to buy the two packs. Yay!

Refused - Servants of Death EP

    The Underworld soundtrack LP

The only other thing I would have grabbed was Soundgarden's SOMMS EP, but that got snatched before I came across it. But 4 for 4 is a fuckin' great haul regardless..
It's mildly irritating that you guys get another RSD. Only thing I saw I might have been interested in was Death Grips but no chance of getting that over to the UK for reasonable money. Ah well.

In other news, just bought a City and Colour record off Discogs for €90 in mint condition, arrives with a seam split and the records packed outside it so was there before it was shipped. The seller tried to bullshit me with he must have missed it... it's about a fucking inch long. This guy was from France. So maybe it's not just us Brits that can't package records after all!!

    played today:

kyle dixon & michael stein - stranger things vol. 2
2xLP on 150g "VHS black" vinyl (aka plain black hahaha)
i kind of understand why the separated the two volumes, but i wish that invada had actually come out with that box set that was supposed to include all of the score in one package, because it's such fantastic music.

also, sold my back to black copy of TDS on discogs today, and one of the lovely members of our board is in the process of buying my original promo copy, so i'll just be left with that 2008 US repress that i bought from the NIN website and is, hands down, the best-looking and best-sounding version.

They are still doing the box set. I sent them a tweet a few days ago and got a really abrupt reply from them (their customer service is a bit dodgy - you get the impression it's one person dealing with it all and they get frustrated at getting the same question over and over and eventually get a bit shitty with the next person that asks that question). It definitely won't be on sale this year.

It seems a really weird marketing strategy. I really want it but I imagine a lot of people will have bought the individual volumes rather than waiting for the box set.

Mondo's doing a goddamn motherfucking 12" single for the video game Death Stranding. YES. (They announced a couple other video game-related releases on their website, too!)

    https://mondotees.com/products/death...ming-12-single

As for the Fight Club LP, I can at LEAST say that it sounds fucking stellar, but now I'm half tempted to get out of bed to find out wtf this "Where Is My Mind" shit's about.
