Well it's here. Super happy about the slipmat. Just irked with ups.

Only a small slam into the side. I guess the wax looks okay at least. I'll know after a listen for sure.

I remember being terrified that I would miss out on the slipmat when I made my order, and here we are two years later where they're still available, lol.

    Adding to the pool of knowledge;

Discogs guide to recording collecting (link goes to a site that links to the ebook PDF directly, I don't like posting links directly to PDFs)

This is cool, thanks! I’m a casual collector, so I’m not totally educated on best practices. One question I have is about the angle when they’re leaning. How far can they lean on each other before they start to warp?

P.S. Got a new console recently which I really like:

No real idea... I just try to make sure they are leaning the same relative way (aside from the first few against "the wall", I'd make those as straight as possible) and then also making sure that not "too many" are leaning the same way (and then splitting the leaning to both sides and not just focused on one). Hope that makes sense.

My Sacred Bones Black Friday 10 for $40 dinged and damaged sleeve haul. The Halloween is the clear with orange blob thing in the middle and has only one tiny bend in the corner. I'm probably going to sell that one for original cost with free shipping since I already have it so message me if you're interested in that!

Self-indulgent year end pick-ups video? [check]

...and this is me now trying not to buy any more records before 2020...

(and here's the full 293 label version... it's only 23minutes...)

I'm likely on the OCD end of this, but I try to keep mine as close to perfectly vertical as possible, but loosely-packed enough so that I can push them side-to-side easily at the tops, and remove one without dragging its neighbors along. I use bookends whenever I have a section of space that isn't completely full.

Always makes me wince when I see pictures of LPs leaning at 45 degrees or more.

Murphie stored thousands of customers' CDs, then suddenly disappeared

I get the utility of the service but I'd still never trust a 3rd party with my collection.

Exactly, just asking for trouble giving someone else your property.

Received new releases from two of my favorites today. First full length album from Harry Nilsson since 1980, recorded about 25 years ago. And Fiona Apple's last album which has been out of print for years finally got a nice repress from VMP.

Did you contact them about it? They are usually pretty good about replacing damaged items

I've purchased a lot of vinyl from Amazon the past few years, and for the most part their packaging is usually pretty good. Today I received my order in nothing more than a plastic USPS bag. No protection/padding whatsover. Just a record in a glorified garbage bag. Needless to say, the record was completely fucked. I hope they package my replacement properly. What the fuck were they thinking?

I once bought a record from an inexperienced seller on eBay and was horrified to find that when the record arrived, it was packaged and sent in nothing more than a padded envelope. Luckily the record was okay but I educated the seller on how to properly package a record moving forward.

I saw some old Eno records in a local shop 2 for £20, discreet music and ambient 4, the latter of which I’m very fond. I might go back and crate dig, see if I can find Another Green World

another green world was a record i got really cheap from a friend (his dad was getting rid of stuff and he sold me the lot for like $5, which included that record, USA by king crimson, treasure by cocteau twins, and a few other great finds), but when i traded $200 worth of records to my tattoo artist in exchange for my $500 millennium falcon tattoo, that's one of the ones i gave him. kinda regret it since i don't even know if he likes eno haha.
