Well, one of my local stores has a single copy of the one release I want for RSDBF... come on Sheryl Crow... will I get lucky? Guess we'll find out in like 21hours.

Update: All done! Managed to get Niggy Tardust and the APC ‘So Long...’ 7-inch. Line was surprisingly short, too. I’m pretty sure I was one of the first to get both, if not the first.

Just got back from Mills in KC and they still had at least like 8 copies of it

That was exactly how many Love Garden was supposed to have. I didn’t take a count, but it sure looked like there were more than half of them still there at a glance. Like I said, that line was pretty short though. Line barely even made it to the alley beside the store by the time they let us in, and they didn’t even do numbers. I may even go by later and see if I can happen across a second copy to keep sealed up.

(not a quality pressing for the Sheryl Crow, not enough for me to return it but if it comes out on black and is of overall better quality, I won't feel bad letting this blue one go)

Looks and sounds great, but I prefer the gatefold artwork for the first press

This is the closest thing to summing up my own eclectic tastes that I've ever seen in picture form on this site. Would definitely have bought 2/3 of these if I were a vinyl person.

Yeah, fuck U2. Who would buy that? ;p

I managed to find The Smashing Pumpkins' new album Shiny and Oh So Bright on black vinyl at Barnes & Noble. I had 35% off and paid a whopping $15.16 for it.

Well since we're talking about eclectic tastes now, here are my other 2 pickups from Friday, in addition to the Saul Williams record:

David Byrne & Various Artists - True Stories: The Complete Soundtrack (Barnes and Noble Exclusive Red Pressing)

Jerry Garcia Acoustic Band - Almost Acoustic (RSDBF18 Exclusive Green Marbled Pressing)

Anyone into Loma Vista signed artists and want vinyl tomorrow is your last day for 20% off with the code LVLP20

I just bought St. Vincent's MASSEDUCTION and Alice Glass's EP and Remixes album.

Too bad I didn't need Ghost stuff.

Actually, that is the one that I would've passed on. I have my reasons.

How does her solo stuff sound? I always thought her vocals were a bit unrefined/rough and fit perfectly with the CC music but never really thought they would stand out well on their own.

Probably sacrilege to say they're similar to me but not drowned out by harsh instrumentation.

Interesting sound...does she create the music herself or does she have a band member(s)?

Jupiter Keyes, formerly of the band Health, does the production. Him and Alice are dating too.

Her track Stillbirth has some NIN-esqueness to it...

Guess that's why Health have been releasing new music with other producers. Jupiter was their main producer, but now he is gone.

Health did this one with synthwave/retrowave producer Perturbator...

I just picked up the Garbage RSD release myself - Destroying Angels is a great track, and the Starman cover is pretty solid too.

Just bought two copies of COIL's The Ape of Naples on clear vinyl (one as a Christmas gift for my friend and myself) and the New Backwards.

Hell fucking yes, been wanting these for a while. Ape of Naples is how I got into COIL (Heard Tattooed Man on the radio of all places).
