    Yeah!

I am sadly. I nearly won a eBay auction for the 2017 blue pressing from Candlelight last week for 38.00 but some asshole over outbid me in last 10 seconds so I’m still back on the hunt. It sucks.

"Gordon" (25th anniversary edition) - Barenaked Ladies (first reaction; sounds great! I've been listening to the CD for 25 years ((which also means I've been listening to them longer than NIN... I came on with TDS)) and the it does sound better, the background vocals/effects mix pop out better...)
"Play" - Moby (first reaction; not unhappy with this either... sounds bit fuller than the 'o' CD and the effects pop out a bit more)

It seems I've picked up, like... 145 new (to me) records (singles, E.P.'s+L.P.'s) in the past year. I doubt next year will be as hectic in that regard... I need new shelves first.

And sure, here's my top 20 surprise finds this past year (sure, some of them I knew very well previously, but it was the quality of this particular release that justifies them being there)

(don't worry some being listed as Various Artists, it's just the way I like to format my titles within iTunes after digitizing the vinyl)

Since we both love music I bought my husband a record player for Christmas in 2016 and according to our Discogs account we have picked up over 500 records in the past year.

    I think I've created a monster...

Those Throbbing Gristle 2017 releases, "The Second Annual Report - 40th Anniversary Edition"(white); "20 Jazz Funk Greats"(green) are worth picking up. They do sound a bit quiet, but the disclaimers on the insert/booklet explain why satisfactorily.

Just an FYI; if you're into chill Bleep.com has Kruder & Dorfmeister's The K&D Sessions back in stock after a long time. Seriously good compilation.

what's the explanation given? do they sound better than the pressings from a couple years ago?

that album got me into SO MUCH MUSIC it's ridiculous. a customer of mine had it on one day when i was doing work at his house and i asked what it was. it sent me down such a rabbit hole once i picked it up. owning it on vinyl would be pretty nice... (and $51 for 5xLPs is really good)

    I'll quote the text;

"In order to enable the somewhat unusual sound on this record to be pressedand played back on standard equipment it has been found nescessary to cut
it at somewhat less than normal volume. Kindly compensate for this by
adjustment of volume on your playback system" (Second Annual Report)

"The quality and content of this album should not be compared to conventional commercial live or
studio recordings, The Throbbing Gristle repertoire consisted of a diverse range of intentional
(and unintentional) tonalities, timbres including tape hiss, phase error, white noise, distortion
clicks, pops, extreme high and low frequencies and occasionally silence.
Please bear this in mind when listening to these recordings." (20 Jazz Funk Greats)

And to go along with that, I'll say that pressings are fine... didn't have any issues with them.
