Nevermind really is Nirvana's best album. Every poster I have ever seen on any board claims it's Bleach or In Utero.
how do you define "best" though?
In Utero is my favorite because of a) the songs & lyrics, b) the production, and c) the artwork
i would be fine never listening to Nevermind (or seeing its cover art) ever again, not because it's bad, but because it just doesn't have the same impact for me
Nevermind is a great album. Almost too good, really.
The problem is that it's been so overplayed, it's completely unlistenable. At least, that's how it is for me.
I feel like In Utero (along with the Unplugged album) is Nirvana at their creative peak. That's not to take away from Nevermind per se. I really like Nevermind, but In Utero is more forward thinking and, in my opinion, a more interesting album than Nevermind.
Bleach is good, but I don't know why anyone would consider it their best album. Nostalgia maybe?
Unplugged is as close as I get.
In Utero is peak Nirvana. I wonder what a follow up would’ve been like had he not died.
Heart-Shaped Box is one of the best 90’s radio hits to me. It’s so good.
I think they would’ve churned out one more album that was a true magnum opus in 1996-1997 and would have fallen off then as most bands in that genre time frame did. Nu metal and pop were getting super big in the late 90’s and grunge was waning.
Cobain is and was not a stable man so might not have resulted in death but drugs would have taken a toll on his career somehow. Heroin is one of the worst things you can do.
As for Nirvana, I like them alright. I own In Utero in the 2013 Albini mix vinyl press and their discography on the computer but I’m far from a mega fan. I also never considered them the second coming of Christ in music like everyone else does or did either.

I think if Kurt hadn't died, In Utero would've been their last album anyway. Nirvana would end, but Kurt would continue making music and doing art. I can picture him doing weird projects and making music that he's happy with and he does it more because he wants to, not necessarily to get another hit album. Pretty much I picture him as a recluse artist.
Puddle of Mudds first record is fucking amazing. And a lot of the songs off Creeds Weathered are good too.
Bullets is a good track and so is What If.
Is this the right place to admit musical sin?
Because I always liked this song
I do like Creed's first album, the rest of their work is horrendous...
Creed had riffs for days. Mark Tremonti was the first artist to get his own guitar with Paul Reed Smith, even before Carlos Santana who was the first notable player to use them (he was the 2nd), and I can't be mad at that.
Liked Creed's first two album, liked most of what I heard from Alter Bridge, they are a slightly better-than-average modern rock band, wasn't too into Tremonti's solo albums.
Creed would have been perfectly fine if it weren't for Stapp.
