I was going to wait to buy this but all the praise I'm reading for the campaign makes me want to buy it on release

    Edit: Yeah...pre-ordered it

Holy goddamn this game is fun. I wasn't even going to buy it but my brother got it at midnight yesterday and I played with him for a bit when he got home, and I had to go out and buy a copy for myself this morning. My gamertag is GarrettR33 if anyone wants to add me and play some online sometime.

This is definitely awesome. The opening cut scene might just be the best looking one I've ever seen in a game. Only played up to the start of the 3rd mission but it was tons of fun up until that point. Gonna put in a bunch of time with it tonight, very glad I ended up buying it.

Beginning of the second mission. Pretty fun so far. Also played a round of Slayer, which I did shockingly well. Like something clicked.

Finally found my multiplayer game to finally sink my teeth and time into. I hadn't played or loved multiplayer in a game since last years Gears of War release. Definitely going to play the living fuck out of this. ZIt demands my attention and time.

I hit the XP Daily Cap last night around 11:50...so it's good it gets reset on 12 am for a new day.

    Already at SR-23.

Since the election is over (finally), I can really get into this one now. So far, I'm really enjoying it. But I've yet to really sit down and actually play it without having to worry about anything else.

There's a daily XP cap? How high is it?

It depends on how much XP you gain in a day, not so much as levels you go up. I went from Level 6 to level 23 before it cut me off so...haha.

    I'm currently SR-33.

god damnit this game wasn't supposed to be fun or good in anyway. the campaign is so much better than fucking reach ever aspired to be and the multiplayer is so smooth and the spartan ops missions are FUN.

why 343. why you gotta do this to me.

I usually like to avoid the whole AAA fall games thing since I'm not usually a fan of this kind of stuff, but man, this game is really good. I'm glad I bought it.

Is there a change to the multiplayer that I'm missing? be cause all of a sudden I suck less... in Reach, I was lucky to get 8 kills. Now I'm averaging 10-14. Not complaing of course...

Agreed and I still feel it's not really catering to newer or the more casual crowd either.

I wouldn't say "easier", because that implies that it should be just as easy for anyone else to kill him, too. I could be wrong (I haven't played a Halo game in a couple years until now) but I think they raised the score limit for Slayer, so everybody's just getting more kills because the games go on for longer. They've definitely made the shields/health/whatever weaker, but that makes it just as easy for someone to kill you as it does for you to kill them, so it's kind of a moot point.

The shields are definitely weaker. I'm racking up on kills though. I just found it a little odd that I'm doing so well now, but was way below average in Reach. I'm finishing in the top 2 most of the time in Team Slayer though. Last round I got 16 kills. I NEVER got so many kills in Reach or any of the older games. I wish I could say its skill, but I dunno...

The assault rifle is also stronger.

Pretty much I run on my first load out is that with unlimited sprint.

What does everyone think of the non-UNSC Primary loadout weapons? I just the the Assault Rifle and DMR, I was thinking of switching to the suppressor but I don't want to waste my SP on something that's exactly the same as what I've got.

Forerunner weapons outside of the Binary Rifle, Scattershot or the Incinerator Cannon are shit in multiplayer.

I'm free most nights, GT is GarrettR33. Actually I may still have a few of you guys from back in day. And I think I have Conan from wayyyyyy back, but I could be confusing him with someone else.

I'm up for whenever I'm on, GT: Darktemplar oo7

I love the Scattershot in multiplayer, it's shit at range, but wrecks up close. The campaign in this blew me away, I didn't expect it to be anywhere near as fun or as good as it was. I couldn't put it down, last night I finished level 5 and played right to the end, it was awesome. The story in this is phenomenal, the voice acting is superb, the animations and motion capture is disgustingly good. Master Chief has more character than he has before, and for once I actually felt like he was a character and not a hollow shell to project the player on.

And the Mammoth level. Shit. That ruled. (Though I could say that about pretty much every level after that as well).
