Red face Palms (ISIS and Deftones joins forces)

PALMS is the newly formed Los Angeles-based quartet featuring three former members of ISIS (Aaron Harris, Clifford Meyer and Jeff Caxide) with DEFTONES vocalist Chino Moreno. The debut album will be issued by ISIS' former label, Ipecac Recordings, and is slated for a 2012 release.
The CD was recorded and mixed by Harris, and produced by PALMS.

PALMS is Jeff Caxide (bass/keyboards), Aaron Harris (drums), Clifford Meyer (guitar/keyboards) and Chino Moreno (vocals).

Anyone else creamed their pants about this? ISIS went out with a bang imo and Chino seems to be a roll, so this should sound awesome.

Cool. I always thought a good singer was what was standing between Isis actually being a great band. And Saturday Night Wrist was very Isis.

How many things can Chino possibly be working on at once? This is gonna be awesome.

absolutely my most anticipated release this year, sounds like a match made in heaven. Does seem like Chino is doing a lot though, a Crosses EP scheduled, a new Deftones album, and this entirely new band.

this sounds incredible. what's great about chino is that he seems to fit in no matter what the music sounds like, from deftones, to Team Sleep, to Crosses, now mix that with ISIS? damn. i'm pretty stoked.

Ummmmm..... wow. I'll listen to absolutely anything Chino does vocals on, whether it's a one-off like that awesome song he did for The Raid: Redemption or a new band like Crosses. This, though... I don't think I could have ever imagined a full-blown collaboration with former members of Isis. I love Wavering Radiant (it remains my favorite Isis album), and like you said, Chino has been on a roll, so this is very promising. Thanks for the heads-up!

Lookijg forward to this... dont know how chino has the time any more... deftones are in the studio right now right...?
    Am he just got married!

Also does anyone else feel like there are too many threads for chinos bands? I already felt like the other two threads ended up talking about both nands. Im not a big fan of super threads or amything, just observing how these threads are used....

I always liked him and his vocal style. He has a distinctive voice that's easily recognizable and very versatile. I'll gladly listen to anything he's involved with, this new band with Isis is no different.

Idk. I heard the one track and it kinda sounded like less interesting Isis material with melodies from Chino that sounds a lot like what he's already done before.

On Blabbermouth they posted http://mixlr.com/chino-moreno/me as the link and said that the song played an hour and two minutes into it was a song from the project. I just checked it now, and there doesn't seem to be any audio anymore. From what I remember, it pretty much sounded like Isis with Chino singing. Pretty cool for somebody wanting to check that out combination I guess.

That sounds so good. This is probably one of my top 3 most anticipated albums of the year. Cannot wait for June!

    Exactly.

But maybe the other material turns out better, because it isn't bad.

Getting Red Sparrows vs. Deftones vibe.

First track finally released. Not sure if this was the same as that unmastered demo or fake or whatever it was going around.

Love it. At this point, I am so biased towards anything Chino is in that I find it hard to imagine myself not loving something he puts out. This is exactly what I expected from this project and it sounds so beautiful.

Hell yes! I am loving this. It has the ISIS sound I like and what a cool match with chino. I hope some of the tracks really break into that darker/harder ISIS stuff and chino turns up the heat a bit. It blows my mind how much Chino has grown as an artist. The guy has been non stop the last two years.

I just realized someone posted the "tour" dates. I'm going to that SF show. Chino must love Slim's in SF. Crosses played there and Team Sleep has played there. I'm sure if Deftones ever played there it would have been quite some time ago. Excited for the show.

no, they just keep teaming with the same promoter for these small runs.

Has a tracklist been posted anywhere yet? I searched quite a bit and could not find anything.
