Just finished a full watch through of Twin Peaks, including FWWM and The Missing Pieces, and am going to listen to the final dossier on audio book again tomorrow, (on audiobook because some of the actors do the reading.)

I feel like I caught a LOT more little details in the return, the second time around.

@eversonpoe , you simply must watch inland empire.

To me, it's his only full on horror movie.

"Eraserhead" and "Inland Empire" are pretty terrifying, too!

Hell, Twin Peaks: The Return is pretty fucking scary, too, as is Eraserhead.

But Inland Empire, for me, is the scariest. I used to have it under "Horror" on my plex server.

As a massive Lynch fan, I've watched Inland Empire twice now and I just can't get into it. It's the only film of his (not counting Dune) that I don't love. I've seen all his films at least twice, watched all of Twin Peaks 4 times, read his biography, watched the Art Life doc, I love the guy, but Inland Empire just feels like a struggle to get through. IMO The Return is his masterpiece.

I took 4 or 5 of my friends to see Inland Empire when it was released in a small theater in Nashville.... they all hated me for making them sit through it hahaha

After the full Twin Peaks saga, my second favorite Lynch film is probably Inland Empire. That movie feels very pure and without compromise much in the same way that Eraserhead feels like living inside of David's horrific dreams. The rest of his filmography aesthetic is rooted in a "hollywood approved" style of film making. Yes, those films (Blue Velvet, Wild at Heart, Lost Highway, Mulholland Drive) are still surreal and mindbending but they're structured and put together in a way for mainstream audiences to consume (not necessarily saying this a bad thing at all). Whereas, Eraserhead and Inland Empire feel like David is pushing his imagination as far as he wants to and is making no attempt to organize those bursts of creativity in any sort of digestable form.

Also, I love Dune! David Lynch's feelings on the film be damned!

For fuck's sake. I know ONE of you has the audio copy of The Final Dossier.

I own the book. My audio copy got fucked off when my cat, Agent Cooper, knocked the external hard drive off the desk, and broke it.

Today's number is Ten, according to Lynch.

SOMEBODY loan me an audio copy of the book, because I don't have the money to buy it again right now.

@eversonpoe , you HAVE to listen to The Final Dossier, as, many of the actors from The Return do the reading.

I came here to post this, and see if everyone knew about it.

I read about it in that one big Twin Peaks forum, welcometotwinpeaks I think?
    Anyway, HO-LY SHIT.

It's sure to be incredible. Hopefully the usual suspects will be involved as actors. I doubt Lynch would have it any other way.

Also, people are speculating that it might be part of the Twin Peaks universe, due to cryptic, teasing tweets from Michael Horse and Kyle Mc, and the fact that Lynch said in an interview that he'd be working on "continuing a story" if it weren't for the pandemic.

He also said he'd like to do more with Carrie Page.

So, this thing MIGHT pick up where The Return left off: in an alternate dimension of the Twin Peaks world.

Also, TWIN PEAKS PRODUCTION INC. is listed as one of the two production companies for this thing, which is apparently called Unrecorded Night.

Lynch announced he's going to be making an announcement tomorrow. Hoping it's something worth making an announcement for an announcement for.

    i mean...

it's one of two things, i'll bet.

He's going to announce details about the not-so-secret secret show he's been working on for Netflix, which i think will be a sort of vague twin peaks spinoff, OR,
he's going to make an important announcement about his David Lynch Foundation, while everyone is watching, waiting for news about the Netflix show.

He's just trolling people, I think.

    NOOOOOOOOOO!

Netflix No Longer Attached to David Lynch Series

This bad news comes from the source who originally leaked the info in the first place, and he was right. The source leaked the info BEFORE the proof.
It probably follows, then, that this is also true.

I hope to god another service snatches this up.
