I really like the Circadian Rhythm. Super excited for their new album. I loved Carnavas, Swoon, and even the Seasick EP. Wasn't too keen on Neck of the Woods, though Skin Graph, Bloody Mary and Gun Shy Sunshine are all awesome songs.

I need to see these guys live.

Whenever an album leaks the same day it is put up to stream, always assume its just a shitty rip of the stream until confirmed otherwise.

I dig the album a lot. It's dripping to the core with emotion but also a very mellow album.

Yes! Thanks for the info on the stream. Just finished listening, overall I really enjoyed it. Tapedeck was a standout to me. Lots of electronic elements on this album...not in a bad way.

Seems like another solid release from these guys, can't wait to listen again.

This album is fantastic. I didn't know what to expect except to be moved by their creativity. My favorites are Cradle, Connection and Ragamuffin (god I love that song).

Definitely dig the new album. Love several songs. As most have said, Ragamuffin is a BIG standout.

By far their worst album yet. I was hoping to hear a more cohesive album from them this time around, but for me, it just sounds like a bunch of songs thrown together like Neck Of The Woods but I loved that album miles more than this. Most of Better Nature just drags and seems a bit lazy at times.

"Tapedeck" is the only reason besides a handful of tracks that I come back to this album. Fuck sakes, that song is fantastic.

I completely disagree. This album is instantly better than Neck Of The Woods. I'd even go so far as to say that this album has a few moments that happen to reach even higher than some of the best moments on Swoon. Some of the best melodies they've ever come up with. These songs are really beautiful sounding. It's sooo chill. I really think that The Wild Kind also might be one of the most accomplished tracks that they've ever written. Really really enjoying this album.

Pleasantly surprised by the new album.
Listen to it for the first time yesterday. Twice that is.
Lots of highlights. Connection really kicks the album into high gear. Both Pins & Needles as well as Friendly Fires have great melodies.
Tapedeck is awesome. The end of that song reminded me so much of the ending of Knights of Cydonia by Muse. Am I going crazy here?
    Ragamuffin is another standout track.
What a spectacular way to finish the album with The Wild Kind. That song blew me away. It's fun, upbeat and it brings a level of satisfaction that every album should have with its last song.
    Writing is amazing.

    Good stuff overall.

wtf. Have they even toured properly on that last record? seems like all they did is opening slots and festivals, no headline tour.

will easily skip this, and I'm a fan of both bands. Don't need drunk 3EB fans ruining a Silversun show outdoors in the summer, and don't part. want to see either band in a half-empty shed. PASS.

And now that I think of it, I really didn't like the last SSP record.

I agree. I've seen SSP 4 times, and each setting was perfect for them. The new album didn't feel as cohesive as the rest. Tapedeck was one of the only songs that stood out to me.

I heard the tour is really 3EB playing their lame debut album in its entirety. Seriously? SSP is opening for them for that?

New album announcement coming April 11, from the mailing list update that went out today. I'm reading that Butch Vig is producing it, fuck yes!

Neck of the Woods I really enjoyed, but I love the fact that they are giving studio updates; I feel bands should do this more often. That song in the first clip sounds light-years better than anything off their last album.

    Widow's Weeds, coming June 7

“This was the first album where we were open. We were exposed. I see how that can be scary to people, but for us we really thrived on that.
“The record does have a mourning vibe, but it's not sad. It's change. It's growing up and moving on and letting go of things. And it's okay to be sad about those things and mourn them. It's actually healthy to do so and take the time to do it. At the end of the day, it's going to be much better and much more fulfilling when you get through it."

Neck of the Woods is one of my favorite albums in the last 10 years. I love a lot of songs on Better Nature. And I really love this new song! My wife and I can't wait to see them again live one day.

It took me a few listens to get hooked on it, but I'm digging it as well.

I liked a few songs from their last album, but overall it never really infected me like every single one of their past albums before that had.

They also released the tracklist for their new album coming in August, which is exciting to me since Dream at Tempo 119 is one of my fav old school tracks by them. Based on Brian's description of the album, I'm curious what these new ones will sound like!

BRIAN ON PHYSICAL THRILLSThis record is alive. No, I haven’t completely lost it....yet. It sits somewhere in between a collection of songs and an imaginary friend. A friend that from March of 2020 to April of 2021 would not only introduce itself to me, but keep me company through that time of intense isolation. A friend that would remind me that in this instance, the whole world was feeling the same way as well. A comforting, playful, sometimes frightened, often delighted friend. A friend that was finally introduced to Butch Vig, once we got vaccinated, and blew through his studio like a tornado made of cotton candy, leaving little pieces of residue everywhere. But most importantly, this friend REALLY doesn’t give a fuck. I know. That sounds brash. I just mean it’s a thing that is truly free. And now, this little living head space no longer visits me. I visit it through this album. I hope you like it. My friend wouldn’t care. Little rascal…_b

^^^ Oh wow! Thanks for posting that, I didn't get a chance yesterday to fully dive into the news.

3 new "Dream At Tempo" tracks? I read on their reddit that all of those tracks were about a minute long? Either way, seems a tad like a concept to me! Reading the lyrics from the original track, it sort of goes with what he is explaining as his imaginary friend, I'm hoping for a connection there.

Really looking forward to this one since the last two didn't really do much for me, but they do hold some of my favorite SSPU tracks ever with Tapedeck and Freakazoid.
