this week's episode was fantastic. so many great backstories revealed, angela bassett is still an ass-kicking fox (and i love that her character is basically pam grier), and my favorite moment of the episode:

i LOST it when that happened.

oh, and my wife has decided she's going as Sally for Halloween...i might go as March, even though i'd have to shave my beard.

Me and the wifey LOLd at that line too, as well as the part about google being obscene. That guy is really starting to come into his own as an actor.

Oh, @eversonpoe , i think you will get a big kick out of backtracking and watching the other seasons. I'm sure you've heard this, but the way they use the same cast playing different characters each year is SO fucking cool. It makes me think of a theater troupe putting on different plays.
Asylum is my favorite season, then the first one. Everyone hates on Coven, but i liked it. The only season i didn't get into was last year's. It was like true detective season 2-too many plot lines to create a cohesive story.

Ok. Here's what i was originally coming here to say. It seems to me that Sarah Paulson is ACTING like Jessica Lange. I'm wondering if, somehow, Jessica Lange will play an aged version of the same character. I know, i know, she's a ghost, but it's AHS. It could happen somehow.

This season is destroying so far.

Sadly, that's exactly how Coven was going until somewhere in the middle where it became every cliche instantly. So. I hope they learned their lesson. (And budgeted properly.)

i think that they have listened to fan's complaints and are trying to rectify their past mistakes.

I tried to watch some of Season 2 and couldn't get into it.

If you play a video clip from season four that is demonstrating what you're talking about, I might be able to help. Post it in the synth thread

I think my favorite part of the hotel season so far has been the soundtrack, i totally did not expect this show (or any other really) to fully embrace this much 80's goth.

the show itself has been pretty good, the shows have been well paced / well acted, with enough plotlines and hooks sort of all tangled together.

imho the show hasn't been this good since asylum.

i agree that this last episode was pretty weak.
@eversonpoe , did you notice that old school synth playing throughout a lot of the episode?
i can't find a clip of it, and i REALLY wanna know what it is.

Denis O'Hare deserves all the awards there are after that backstory sequence.

This show went downhill after the first season, to the point that it was unwatchable for me last year.

This season has restored my faith in AHS.

It's Mac Quayle - original composer for the show, apparently. That is, if you're thinking of the same sound I am.

Denis O'Hare was indeed great in this episode, I choked up.

This season is getting better and better with each episode. Reminds me a lot of the first season, although I'm still on the fence about Lady Gaga. This last episode with the school children was fantastic, definitely the best entry in season five so far.

    Renewed for a sixth.

So we've had a haunted house, an asylum, coven with witches, a freak show/circus and finally an hotel.
    What's next?

    **Edit**

Bloody Disgusting is reporting that it will be the final season. They are the only one reporting this.

yeah, that was incredible. i was crying pretty hard.

overall an incredibly enjoyable episode. i can't believe chloe's character did what she did without even the slightest hesitation, and the aftermath of that decision was comically horrendous.

Decent episode this week - Spoiler: Nice to see the Murder House again, Alex continues to be the worst and my heart broke for Liz. Also, I called Tristan being Liz's love interest last week and that Gaga's child was the thing in Room 33.

Heads up - the promo for episode 7 gives away a huge spoiler so don't watch it if you're trying to avoid these things.

Thanks, but that still doesn't tell me what kind of synth it is.

    Holy backstory!

Also, calling that the Ten Commandments Killer is Spoiler: Will Drake. Psycho!John is too obvious for this.

Obvious outcome was obvious this week, but it was quite well-done. Evan Peters continues to be a hoot.

Hmmmm seems like it could be an interesting setting. Not hyped for it though. Hopefully that will change between now and then.

Every year the teasers get me amped for the new season and every year I am supremely disappointed. There is no one to blame but myself.

my wife has watched every season (i've only watched Hotel) and said that the teasers and credits sequences are ALWAYS way scarier than the show itself ends up being.

    They're remaking Rosemary's Baby?

I really need to make time for this show. I don't understand how it has escaped me all this time.
