Opinions on the new album? I have it but haven't yet had the chance to give it more than a cursory listen.

I actually think it's really good, though it doesn't sound anything like what I would have expected. I really like the song Colourblind

Damn, I was hoping with the creation of this thread came some news of the Spring tour that they said was going to happen back in the fall.
    Any news on that?

I'm really surprised nobody has mentioned the new live disc coming in June.

I'm not really as interested in the live album as I maybe should be. To me, the tracklisting just strikes me as "meager". Especially, considering all of the great stuff played on that tour that isn't on there. I'll probably check it out eventually, I'm sure.

    Me either, sadly.

If this was a DVD that'd be a different story as far as my interest would go.

Yeah, I saw the news come up on my facebook feed from skinny puppy advertising it, but what I am really interested in at this point are tour dates for their so called "spring tour" they said was coming last fall.

Ended up buying the new live album earlier, it's pretty awesome. Wish there were more tracks from the tour for sure, but the sound quality is great.

I'll be picking up the live album, but it is missing (due to label restrictions I'm sure) the live tracks previewing the new album. I'd be interested in hearing the differences from the early live versions to the versions that ended up on HanDover. I don't think crappy youtube videos will cut it.

But did they play new tracks on that tour? They definitely didn't at the Toronto show I saw. I know cEvin premiered new stuff in his DJ sets leading up to the release of Handover though.

That artwork is really impressive. Does anyone else think it looks like a film poster?

Yup, first thing I thought was "new Spiderman already?"

Love Gilmore's artwork though, he never disappoints.

Hell yes! That's not too bad of a wait either. What a great year for music. And considering how much I enjoyed HanDover, I'm very excited.

I thought 'huh, year and a half since handover' then I realised that in the time between Weapon and Mythmaker, they released Mind to Last Rights, 6 albums in 6 years. Never realised how prolific they were back then.

wow, wasn't expecting this at all. HanDover still seems like a new album! We still never even got a tour to support that album that I have been waiting ever to patiently for. But hey, new material is always awesome in my book!

I think I'm alone when I say this but I hope this album is better than HanDover. The album was good but coming off of Mythmaker it was quite a let down to me.

Mythmaker is easily my least favorite of the lot. Not sure what they were going for there. Very uneven. HanDover is easily my favorite album, post reformation.

I agree. I think HanDover is pretty good. Though GWOTR is my favorite album of the newer stuff.

I as well hated Mythmaker, so when HanDover came out, naturally I was skepitcal, but I gave it a listen with open ears and was pleasently surprised with what I heard. I re-gained confidence that this band can make great music again. Here's to hoping the new album is even better! I just want a Skinny Puppy tour at this point.

Really? I've warmed up to Mythmaker (didn't like it at all at first), but I thought HanDover was awesome.
