After waiting 4 weeks, I finally got in to see my new doctor. He was super cool and easy to talk to, and we're the same age. As we were wrapping up things, he said "welcome to your new home! I'm here if you need anything." I was kinda shocked by that - just that he seemed genuinely pleased to have me as a new patient. I guess it helps that I'm mostly healthy, vaccinated for COVID, and I should be rather low-maintenance.

You can now buy Whataburger Ketchup at Texas Grocery stores, as well as Whataburger Honey Mustard.
    And it's fucking great.

(for those of you not from the southwest, no, Whataburger isn't just a joke from King of the Hill. It's our In-N-Out, or White Castle. And the restaurants are amazing.)

Beating Ticketmaster! I tried to buy ADA seats for Red Hot Chili Peppers on the band presale. The system kept blowing up when you went to purchase. A friend in Las Vegas had the same problem. I sent email to TM from their website & received a generic reply basically blowing me off saying they would deal with it closer to the show. I sent another email this time marking the event in 3 days box. I explained the problem & that if they waited until closer to the show the desired tickets would be gone & that this was a safety issue. I also sent an email to Major League Baseball telling them about the problem with ADA seating @ T-Mobile Park in Seattle & Ticketmaster. Shortly thereafter, Ticketmaster replied & are going to exchange the tickets I bought for ADA seats on the same level. The squeaky wheel gets greased!

The parents are finally getting away to BC for a few weeks. My aunt is up from Texas and has a small house out by the coast, and they haven't been anywhere in about 15-20 years.

Bought new LEGO. Since most of the things I've picked up in recent years are on the large side of things and I don't really have the space to display any more properly... I hadn't actually build anything in quite a while. So... I figured I find some where to put that truck.

I didn't quite realize how large it was though but thankfully I had some room on a bookshelf that I could make it a bookend. I like it.

I got engaged last week on vacation, came back today to find out that I got the promotion I applied and interviewed for back in august, arrived at my desk to find congratulatory balloons and a framed picture of my lady and I along with a comically large "groom" button i'm wearing right now and some goofy ass "groom" sunglasses.

    Life is good.

OK so I'm not the only one? I have the Porsche 911, space shuttle, space station, and several Star Wars sets chilling in the basement, sealed.

Definitely... definitely not the only one. And you don't want to not buy them when they come out, the secondary market prices can be crazy high for the bigger sets (I'm missing the first three modular buildings... got like 20k I can use?)

Activist Apes Erect 2,001-Pound Monolith In Front Of DEA Headquarters, Demanding Feds ‘Evolve’ On Drug Policy

“The DEA, much like a floppy disc or VHS tape, must innovate to represent current science around plant medicines and end its lopsided enforcement practices which disproportionately affect people of color,” Anonymous Apes said. “We believe this monolith has arrived to guide us to a better future, and joins with us to demand that the DEA be brought to justice.”

I've been too fucking depressed to even get up and take a shower for several days, just because i'm bipolar and shit, and so has my mom, (due to her asshole boyfriend ghosting her.) My wife has been sick as fuck.

Well, we were running out of food (and where i live, the grocery store is like an hour and ten min, round trip.)

And i FINALLY got up and washed my grimy ass, and put on fresh drippy clothes, and my wife and i went for a $400 grocery trip, AND picked up Sonic for my mom. I helped put up the groceries, too, and so did my mom. (usually i bring the groceries in and my wife puts them up, because my back and wrists give out, but she was puking this time.)

I feel like i've FINALLY climbed out of this rut, at least a little bit.

Also, i know my mom helping made HER feel a little bit better.

It also made me feel like, you know, we're an actual FAMILY. We live in this huge ass house together, but sometimes, we don't SEE my mom.

I didn't shave, though. I haven't shaved in like ten weeks. i've got this big grimy jihad beard now, lol.
