Mark Cuban started a low-cost prescription drug dispensary.

    Here’s a link:

    Soon, we'll make medications ourselves.
American drug manufacturing capacity is in shortage after the trend of many pharmaceutical facilities moving offshore. We're building a state of the art pharmaceutical facility in Dallas, Texas where we'll produce our own high-quality medicines at the lowest possible prices.

So, three years ago, I had tickets to see Elton John both in Phoenix (where I lived) and L.A. on his farewell tour. I ended up in the hospital with pancreatitis literally TWO DAYS before the Phoenix show. When I finally got out of the hospital it was one day before the L.A. show and I didn't feel up to making a whole trip out of state after just getting out of the hospital so I had to bail on that one, too. It absolutely broke my heart, and I thought I had forever missed my chance to see him live again.

Then I moved to Kansas City last year. And he is playing literally 10 minutes from my house. And I just got a ticket.

I actually started tearing up. I honestly thought I would never get to see him again. I thought for sure my chance was completely gone. I am so so happy right now. I literally started tearing up a few minutes ago. He's my second favorite artist of all time and his music means more to me than I can even put into words. I am so so so excited.

    MY MAN!
He straight up called a fox reporter yelling some inane bullshit a "stupid son of a bitch."

This wasn't something "caught on a hot mic." He MEANT for this to be heard, as far as I can tell.

I like seeing with the gloves off. I'd like to see it more.

Also, this whole exchange, with the anger, sarcasm and wit made me think "yeah. and THIS is the who supposedly can't finish a sentence."

Of course, I think about that a LOT watching Biden speak.

McCain and Biden were best lifelong friends for a reason:

    Oliver Tree.

If you haven't heard of this dude, don't just watch a music video. You've got to go down the full rabbit hole.
He has this whole Andy Kaufman thing going on. He maintains this bizarre persona in all interviews, and a whole hell of a lot of the shit he says about his life is probably untrue.

That being said, he IS incredible at doing tricks on an old fashioned push scooter, which is just ironic as hell, in and of itself. It's like a double irony thing: you'd THINK he was IRONICALLY into push scooters, but then, it turns out that he can do mind blowing tricks.

I guess the character in the kickwear jeans has been recently retired for the one with the blonde mullet.

    It's fucking hilarious.
    The music ain't bad either.

Live music fucking cheered me up last night. Feeling the music in your entire body is so much better than any set of headphones.

Shit, the opening band - The Beverly Crushers - had the bass guitar so loud you could feel every note. Funny thing is I listened to their album today on Bandcamp and it's not nearly as - wait for it - crushing as it was live. Honestly I felt like Voltaire did it better as far as Star Trek songs go but I've never seen him live so who knows.

The second band was the Spoon Benders. There was some sound issues to start, as in the mic wasn't working, so the first song turned into an extended jam session while the techs tried to figure it out. They have a great sound and I'm excited to hear more stuff from them in the future. Live they sound like a more psychedelic Them Crooked Vultures? Very fuzzy and bassy.

Not the show but it will probably be up shortly since someone was filming the whole thing.

The third band, the one I was there to see, was Help. Sadly the sound issues persisted through this set - a monitor was out, the mic kept going - but the band pushed through. It was a pretty great set even with those issues. Some songs from their EP that's on Bandcamp and some songs from their new album coming in March, can't wait for that.

PS - apparently they play the Doug Fir a lot because that's where that video is from but it wasn't from last night.

We left to go out of town a couple nights ago.

Saturday night, I mentioned to my wife that I felt like I was having an RA flare, and wasn't looking forward to trying to get everything packed on Sunday: my hands and feet hurt terribly. Then, I took some medicine and passed out.

I woke up on Sunday morning and 95% of my packing was done. My clothes were washed, folded, and in our travel bag. My medicines were ready to go, along with my tablet and kindle and video game handheld, and toiletries.

She hadn't slept. She'd stayed up all night getting everything ready for me.
THEN, while I was in the shower, she loaded EVERYTHING into our SUV, including my mom's stuff. That's usually my job.

It brought a fucking tear to my eye. When I thanked her for doing all of this for me, she said "this isn't about you or me. It's about US."

Monday was our tenth Valentine's Day together, and our 8th wedding anniversary is rapidly approaching.

So at the risk of being overly saccharine, what cheers me up is having a life partner like this: someone who really SERIOUSLY knows me, and cares this much about me, and the fact that I reciprocate it.
We've had a couple of road bumps, but made it through.
And where we are now- this is the type of shit I dreamed of when I was young.

My dad is alive, so far, after the heart attack yesterday.
I thought he was dead for sure.
He just had a heart cath and they put in a stent.

I'm thoroughly infuriated that his shady ass girlfriend didn't even CALL (or message or text or alert me in ANY way), or give me ANY updates, and STILL hasn't bothered to touch base with me.

But at least I know he's alive now.

My dad had a minor heart attack a couple months ago and had this procedure done. He almost instantly felt better than he had in ages and is doing awesome now. It's like nothing even happened. Hopefully it's a similar outcome for your dad.

Same thing with our landlord last year re: stents. He’s a good guy and doing well.

The thing about my dad is that he's a biker and a rock and roller and I just DO NOT think he's gonna change his ways.
He smokes and drinks like he's 20, and probably needs to lose 75 lbs.
And this was his SECOND big ass heart attack and second stent.

I.barely see him anymore, we argue sometimes, and he has a younger girlfriend who takes advantage of him imho. But if he makes it out of this one alive, I'm gonna call him every fucking day until he's tired of hearing from me. It's a big ass wake up.call.
