I decided I need a vacation, so a friend of mine and me are heading to Japan. It should be cool, I speak/read functional Japanese,,, though I'm going to need to practice. If anyone has any recommendations, I would appreciate it. We will be in Tokyo for a week then going west on the shinkansen, stopping in kobe and hiroshima, Kyoto, Oosaka,, and winding up in fukuoka before flying back.

My shy stepson (who I met when he was eight, and then his dad hid him from us until a few months ago, for like 9 years, and now he's been living with us for the past few months...long story, spilled all over this board back in the day)...

ANYWAY, they do a "Senior Trip," and you gotta hustle these Food Tickets for some sort of town event to earn your spot.
There are only 39 seniors.

He had decided, FOR SURE, that he was gonna tell the teacher that he DID NOT WISH to go on this trip, even after he and I hustled 3 tickets in like ten minutes. He was just gonna turn the money in to the school.

But I had a talk with him, about "even though you might not be feeling these people NOW, things may change by the spring, and you might WISH you were going."

when Lil Man came home yesterday, his mom said "did you explain that you weren't going on the trip?"

I just got back from groceries. There was a dude there just pissed over canned nuts and which version was in the flyer.

He was stomping around like a petulant child and demanded the manager. I'm a dick, so I strolled by and started singing, "You can't always get what you want, but if you're a fuck all time, you'll never get what you need!"
