Fenix? Marcus Fenix?
Either that cover art is going to get replaced, or The D are going to slip a big dick past the noses of all those uptight mothers who begrudgingly let their sons and daughters listen to them.
I doubt it, people are stupid. I noticed the phallus as soon as I looked. Maybe I'm a pervert or it's that obvious.
It's definitely pretty obvious

I won't even front, I'm excited as hell for this. I'm pretty sure Pick of Destiny ranked high on my list back in 2006. I love these guys. I hope there's a huge tour coming soon.
Me too. Them at msg was my first show ever. Hopefully they don't play there again though being that the place was only like 1/3 full.

How'd I miss this thread?
Is pumped crazy up. Loooong time waiting, but living life fine with what D there was.
"They Fucked Our Asses" is actually a really old song. Which I guess isn't too unbelievable since History of Tenacious D was on the Pick of Destiny. I have a bootleg from '01 that has TFOA into Radiohead's Airbag.
1. Rize of the Fenix 2. Low Hangin' Fruit 3. Classical Teacher 4. Señorita 5. Deth Starr 6. Roadie 7. Flutes and Trombones 8. Ballad of Hollywood Jack and the Rage Kage 9. Throwdown 10. Rock Is Dead 11. They Fucked Our Asses 12. To Be The Best 13. 39
I'm pumped for this. I hope it leaks soon (though this is one I'll buy), and I hope it doesn't suck. "Rize of the Fenix" is a pretty good song, so I'm optimistic.
This isn't new but here are their upcoming tour dates including festivals.. They also posted a bunch of cities on their website with no dates or venues yet, so hopefully they announce them all soon. I can't wait to see them again in NY, and possibly Philly. MSG in 2006 was my only live D experience but it was amazing, I was on the rail right in front of JB. I just hope this tour is the old school classic D show, just Kyle and Jack, nothing else.

That's awesome! Really looking forward to the album and tour. I will definitely be at the NY show, possibly Philly as well. Really happy this tour isn't conflicting with anything else I have coming up.
"They'll have to laser off their 'D' tattoos!"
I love the new song, and I can't wait for the album.
It leaked and it kicks ass! The return of skits! Yes! This is what the Pick of Destiny should have been.

Enjoying the album a lot, laughed out loud a lot during first playthrough!

Cool. I love Tenacious D (in small doses: I love some of their hits, don't really care for the albums as a whole or the skits).
Also: I find it a bit ironic and entirely indicative of the current state of rock that one of the few great rock bands around these days is a comedy band.
Love it.
Anybody get tix?
I'll be at the Kings Theatre show, recently moved and now I'm only a few blocks away from the theater, can't wait! (Also NIN please god announce shows there too!)
Anybody watching the Post Apocalypto show on YouTube? I'm loving it so far and can't wait until I can rewatch the whole thing in full next month.
The new album is out tomorrow (and it's leaked too). There's some pretty good stuff on it, as usual! I've heard about half of it so far...
I really loved the series. Listening to the album though just doesn't feel right. Having a skit in between every track, yet still leaving out a lot of context from the series doesn't make sense to me. I'll give it a few more listens, but I don't think I'm going to go out and buy it on vinyl like I initially planned to, certainly not at it's current price tag. As for now:
Tenacious D > Fenix > POD > Post-Apocalypto
This morning I bought tickets to finally see these guys live (at one of my favorite venues) and I'm so pumped for it!
Also, after letting it gestate for a while, I think @imail724 might have been right about this order:
