10 year old spotting, but I was playing Divinity: Original Sin yesterday and was surprised to see these assets scattered around the world. Apparently someone at Larian is a fan.

Don’t recall this being posted, but Mark Romanek posted this little short to Instagram, there’s a credit to Trent for the original score.

Different perspective than I'm used to reading about the Challengers score:

The "Music Videos" part literally links to... Meathead's "Disclipline" video. Please tell me this guy doesn't think that's an actual official music video...??

Yeah, it may have been done independently, but it got the official nod. Think of it like those "Netflix Originals" that were actually filmed and released in Europe, before Netflix took on distribution.

Thank you. Any know how many episodes this is? I'm not taking on another streaming subscription, but if they have a free trial offer I could binge watch this.

They have a free one-week trial for new customers. Also, if you have an AMEX card, you should have an offer on your account for a $11.99 credit/month on Paramount+ charges for up to 3 months. That would essentially give you 3 months for free.

Out of curiosity to those that have watched the whole thing, did you notice editing errors in the third episode? I noticed a bunch of scene cuts where it just went black and silent for what seemed like longer than it should have. And there was a Simpsons clip that played with no audio. And some of the live performances had the vocals pushed to the back. Seemed like they accidentally posted an in progress edit or something while I was watching it.

I just checked the file I downloaded, and yeah, the Simpsons clip has no audio.

I've scanned through the first episode. About halfway through, there is a 4-minute segment devoted to the Phoenix, AZ meltdown. It has all the MTV News footage that we've seen before, but there is a brief glimpse of Trent losing his shit backstage. There's also new, contemporary comments and recollections by Trent about what happened that day.

Then, about 3/4 of the way through the episode, there's about a minute of new NIN footage from Chicago with Trent humping a keyboard. Everyone's talking about how NIN is blowing everyone away, with some more recollections from modern-day Trent.

I just put the 3rd episode on, and the Simpsons clip has audio, so maybe they've updated/corrected the episode?

Do you guys think that down the line they might release some extras for this doco in the form of longer unedited performances?

unlikely, but it would be nice. produced by MTV, so it's good to see they had a bunch of footage, even some unseen stuff, in the archives.

From over on one of the NIN Facebook pages, they mentioned Pearl Jam covered Hurt last night. Found this clip over on Youtube. It's the Johnny Cash version.

A pretty good interview with Chris Vrenna. I'm currently halfway through watching it, but he mentions how he became an assistant Professor and how he met Trent. So far, nothing new, but it's still entertaining.

Uh, no it's not. It's his own version. It doesn't have any chords from Cash version (which would've been very recognizable), and the pacing/timing also very different.

Maybe I should have specified, he covered the Johnny Cash version of the song, since he used crown of thorns in the lyrics.

Trent has performed it with the "crown of thorns" lyric as well before.

A short history of Atari Teenage Riot, with mention from the band of Nine Inch Nails, at 1:45. Nothing new, and it’s an old clip, but it was new to me. Might be to some of you, too. Definitely an interesting 10 minutes, if you like ATR.

Well, nerd time but Pearl Jam only exists because Mother Love Bone imploded after Andy Wood's (the singer) death. Two members of that band - Stone and Jeff - went on to form Pearl Jam. Around the 2000 tour the band started playing Crown of Thorns as a tribute to Andy.
