EDIT: And I’m seeing how this is panning out, and Harris’ camp has run this debate standoff thing correctly, and I was totally wrong. They didn’t need to grab the debate at Fox, just wait for Trump to need the debate when his polls sink, and then force him to stick to the September 10th date.
And it worked. I still think there’s a good chance that he’ll try to worm out of it at the last minute, but I don’t see him doing so without damaging himself further.
He’s in a really bad spot, and I’m trying to not get carried away here… There’s still like 90 days to go…

Harris will most likely not take the bait on the Fox Thunderdome debate and do the first one on 9/10 with ABC. Based on how that one goes will likely decide if she does any others afterwards. I think a lot of it's going to depend on how the polls are looking in the swing states by then.

Never mind the fact that the details of this "stolen valor" claim are absurd. The military should be turning on JD (and Trump) for this. Where's the indignation and outrage? Factor in that one of the main people involved with this smear campaign is the guy behind the original swiftboat thing with John Kerry.

Well, this changes things.
Kamala Harris has really risen to the moment. I keep getting chills. We’re witnessing something really historic, and I only see it building momentum. There’s a reason Trump’s mind is spitting out some stream of consciousness barrage about MLK. He’s starting to understand her as the emerging historical figure, what her victory in November would represent, standing in literal direct opposition to everything his movement stands for.

I think you said it. Think of what's at stake:
1. Harris wins--That would be a bfd and could deliver a knock-out to MAGA. The administration could offer some real progressive policies. And I think the mood of a lot of the country would improve. Maybe people in red states would start to become more open-minded.
2. Harris Wins, but Trump's goons in key swing-states don't certify the results and there's some bullshit and it goes to The House or the Supreme Court and Trump wins and becomes a fascist dictator.
3. Trump wins- Possible, but becoming more remote.

This. I watched the Arizona speech yesterday and found myself starting to tear up. The last time that happened was 2008 while watching Omaha being sworn in. I was living and teaching in Sweden at the time, and the Swedes I worked with all had a similar response: America is really looking like they're trying to live up to their ideals.

So, Trump is clearly not medically capable of making it through 4 years of a presidency.
I know that nobody here is going to vote Vance for president, but it seems very clear that if Trump does win, we wouldn't get President Trump, they're going to 25th amendment him pretty quickly and we're going to get President Vance.
All of those people who wrote Project 2025 (which Vance wrote the forward for) are ready to go to remove Trump, and then it's Vance's country.
If anyone still talks to any Trump supporters, it might be worth pointing this out to them.
