2023--new releases that you are looking forward to

The most hyped album, so far, is the record, by boygenius. I'm looking forward to hearing it.

I'm really looking forward to Mudhoney's new album, Plastic Eternity, out 4/7.

New Metallica is shaping to be good, based on the songs released so far.

Every year comes and goes without a new Guns N' Roses album, but maybe this will be the year.

I'm mostly looking foward the next Tesseract album.

Also coming soon, out of curisosity:
City and Colour (I always love 2-3 tracks)
Peter Gabriel (I/O is coming for real!)
    Puscifer (the remix album)
    The National
    The Veils

What I hope could be announce:
    NIN (always),
Archive (they want to announce something this year, but that could be for 2024)
The Smile (they have a lot of songs ready, could be fun if they manage to release something this soon),
Mars Volta (ORL can work real fast, but I'm not sure we are in for something this soon from TMV)
    Gojira,
anything from Anthony Green (Saosin, Sounds of Animals Fighting, F*cking Whatever, LS Dunes, solo),
Turnstile (they haven't started on the next yet, maybe they can get something by the end of the year)

    Depeche Mode - Memento Mori
    Peter Gabriel - I/O
Slipknot - Look Outside Your Window

I pray that Robert Smith finally releases Songs of a Lost World this year and maybe we can get a new NIN album from Trent.

Neil Young has been on a roll lately, hoping he does another record (and tour?) with Crazy Horse and puts out his multi-disc Archives Vol. 3 set this year.

Always up for more Joan As Police Woman, too, her last few records have been dynamite.

Aphex Twin just announced he's playing a gig this year, maybe another LP or something will follow...

Off the top of my head:

    Puscifer – Existential Reckoning Re-Wired (March 31)
    Metallica – 72 Seasons (April 14)
Prof – Horse (New album from Minneapolis-based rapper drops April 14)
The Smashing Pumpkins – Atum (Acts 2 hits streaming platforms Jan. 31, and Act 3 comes out April 21 May 5, along with physical releases of the full album)
Atmosphere – So Many Other Realities Exist Simultaneously (May 5)
Trent & Atticus – The Killer score
Ghost – TBA (they're teasing something and many are speculating that it's a new EP in the style of If You Have Ghost & Popestar)
Queens of the Stone Age – TBA
    NIN – TBA (fingers crossed!)

I may update this later as I think of others...

RE: Smashing Pumpkins. I'm waiting for the CD to be released and will listen to all three acts together and will spend a weekend with it. New songs sound good.

5? Are they slowing down? They are probably trying to rival Buckethead with the number of new releases.

I didn't realize that QOTSA were working on a new album. They always deliver the goods. Saw them in Boston in 2005 (opening for NIN) and then again in 2017. Saw GN'R the next night. Great weekend.

Apparently the album is done, which would make sense based on the fact they're a headliner on pretty much every festival this summer.

    For things that are rumored:

HEALTH has been working on their next album for a while now.

Jamie Lenman just put out an excellent record in November and is already teasing something additional.

I'm curious about the mystery project Mike Patton has teased as being "out of his comfort zone" but I suspect that may take a couple years to materialize.

I'd always be happy with a Mr. Bungle rarities & B-sides collection. Apparently, a box set of their 3 WB albums is in the works.

    Of course, NIN.

Something from Wes Borland, whether that be Black Light Burns, Big Dumb Face or something else entirely.

By pure speculation, there wouldn't be an album before 2026, with a release of a Puscifer album in 2024-25. I would still consider that to be "soon".
