That's still scary shit. We claim we're at the top of the food chain, but that shows otherwise.
And all of that for that failed orange dude.

If nothing happens to Trump for this attempted coup then we might as well not have a criminal justice system in America. We might as well live in anarchy and do whatever the hell we want.
The documentary guy giving testimony looked like Atticus. Kept expecting to see Trent sitting stone faced behind him.
I suspect that the J6 Committee is at least somewhat apprised of what the DOJ is doing, and doesn’t have intentions of going after every suspect in J6.
The J6’s main focus is Trump, his cabinet, and any member of Congress.
The J6 Committee is largely symbolic. There’s not a whole hell of a lot of teeth, there, other than gathering evidence to show the public. And possibly strip people of the ability to hold office, later.
The DOJ, however, is a different story; that’s a criminal investigation.
There, of course, will be some overlaps. J6 showed videos last night of Proud Boys and Oath Keepers, who have already been arrested and charged by the Federal government (not by Congress). But their motive was to help Trump; they claim they were invited by Trump, by his statements.
So all roads lead back to Trump. He ultimately leads the seditious conspiracy.
HE STILL IS.
Even Ginny Thomas is doing this because of Trump. That’s not a legal excuse, of course.
But if the email lady had won in 2016, none of this would have happened.

One of my coworkers is a huge Trump guy and was on leave for the 5th, 6th, and 7th of January. His leave was submitted 12/21/2020. We've wondered if he was involved but have nothing more than huge coincidences.
Huh.
House Republicans meet with Trump to discuss overturning election results
Trump loyalists are planning a last stand Jan. 6.
edit: just finished going through the pictures there and nothing stands out. oh well. He moved to Florida because he loves DeSantis so I don't have to deal with him anymore so that's a plus.By MELANIE ZANONA

Today we heard testimony about a former president *physically assaulting* a secret service officer, and needing to be restrained by his own secret service team, and that element of the story hasn't even kept our attention, that's where things are at.
I'm not a "we can't walk and chew gum" kind of guy so I generally hate it when people call things distracted, but as far as the guy causing a shit show on a limo, it just seems like it was a lower item on the agenda in the media I listen to amon a whirlwind of other information and other issues
In some twisted Black Mirror-style "ironic punishment department," Trump spends an eternity smashing dishes while "Memory" from Cats plays as a deafening soundtrack to a video of Barack Obama leaving the office with grace and humility, with perhaps a glimmer of smug satisfaction on his face.
Never would've thought he was a cat person.
that was the crowd, the 'they' in regards to the video was the secret service detail.
Turns out Music Man has a name. and he's running for congress. and winning because he's endorsed by Trump.
At least, he was endorsed by Trump.
GOP congressional hopeful Max Miller, in testimony to Jan. 6 committee, says Donald Trump wanted to go to Capitol with rally-goers
That may change.
fuckin bonkers shit.
Wtf.
Now we have proof that Trump is tampering with witnesses, himself.
He tried contacting a witness whom we haven’t heard yet, that witness didn’t respond and contacted their lawyer and the lawyer contacted the Committee.
The Committee referred the matter to the Department of Justice:
https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2022/07/12/...eney-says.html
1) That memo is about a SITTING PRESIDENT.
2) Trump can be prosecuted for crimes and it doesn’t matter.
That isn’t the total point, here.
The point is if he violated the 14th Amendment.
Which would prevent him from running in 2024. Or ever again.
14th Amendment, Section 3
No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

Yeah I wish I had that kind of optimism. I wish I still felt like things like that mattered, but they don't. He will run anyway. Even if the whole government magically decides he isn't allowed, he will still run a campaign, and people will still vote for him.
Not only will Trump run in 2024, but he will most likely win. Or DeSantis, who is just as bad if not worse.
It's at the point where I kinda just hope he and some Supreme Court justices pass over the next 2 years.
I wish we could manage to keep this thread on topic (the hearings of this Committee) for even one fucking page.
