I mean sure...but that's a REALLY specific demographic to aim your holiday children's movie at (no shame in being a furry, no kink shaming from me here) but...i honestly can't think of anything else as to why they've gone with this design. Heh, I meant the furry thing more as a joke than anything. If we’re going for an actual reason, I’d probably think it’s just them trying to go for something “hyper-realistic” and overshooting on the mark. This strikes me as what we could’ve had with Detective Pikachu, except that movie seems to have mostly nailed their Pokémon designs right on the head, as far as CGI “realism” goes. This...ugh. I dunno. It’s uncomfortable to look at. I swear to god, if he has nipples...

The fanbase really hates the design, so this is going over about as well as you'd expect. At this point it's going to be an uphill struggle just to get people to see it, regardless if the movies any good! First impressions are the most important, and i think it's safe to say they've fudged this...

- This looks like a truly impressive follow-up to Get Out. I assume there's gotta be alot more going on than what we see for them to be able to scoop up the cast they got.
- at the moment, Jordan Peele really can do no wrong. Dude is red hot.

...it's not nearly as bad as the silhouette made it out to be (which begs the question why on earth tease that thing in the first place!) but it's still pretty fucking weird, like someone is wearing a costume with his body proportions...
Right, open mind time, need to give this the benefit of the doubt! It might be a great family film like Padington 2...i do really wish they'd just do an animation in the style of the Sonic Mania shorts or the Sonic CD intro though, those were excellent!

The new social media marketing campaign for ‘Us’ asks people to ”Join the Spoiler: Untethering” and I feel like that alone spoils the premise of the movie for me now. Ugh. Not because it’s a bad idea or anything, but mainly because I would have rather been surprised while watching the film than have one phrase now skewing my ideas for what the movie will be before it’s even out.
Just...don’t spoil your movie. Just don’t do it. Let things be up in the air and then be a surprise when it’s out. It works out better that way. It’s okay.
Like imagine if Get Out or Sorry To Bother You gave away their twist in the commercials. They wouldn’t have been NEARLY as impactful in the theater.
