It's going to be hard to adapt the ur-cyberpunk story since literally everything has aped it at one point or another.

It's such a shame that we will probably never get a reissue or an upgraded 4k Bluray of this classic film, but at lease we know what's up now.

He's been quite open about that for a long time now... the part that I don't really get, is that if he really just wanted to buy the movie back, that could be arranged. But he wants to make money off it afterwards which is where the maths fall apart on the deals...
And sure, I get that a whole bunch of people don't want to spend money unless they get a healthy return on it... but that's different than taking ownership of your movie to get it away from that rapist. Seems like different goals.

I'd say get the rights to the films, do what you can to recoup the costs but ultimately it'll be about having it back with him [Smith] rather than sitting with the assets of a rapist.

Like, if he could covertly arrange for a deal and then fundraise to meet that goal... shit, I bet it would happen.... with the only return being that he owns the film and some fresh physical/streaming media distribution.

it's weird how it looks like a tv show but has the cast to justify the movie but then the humor goes back to tv show. I am fully on board with the kids humor and it's been fun reading reddit comments that are angry it's not Michael Bay.

When I saw the poster my first thought was "those are terrible models, they can't transform" and then the trailer says "we don't have the ability to transform yet" so hey, go go in-universe-logic.

huh, that does look interesting. the in-world trap seems silly though because if they don't know who he is, what will surrounding the place do? are they waiting for him to crack and be obvious? but it is just a trailer so fingers crossed.

If M. Night is in top form, the movie will end and we will all be "what just happened?" I think we can at least trust Josh Hartnett to be good. Right?
