Does anyone think this will be on Danny's new album deluxe version? That hasn't shipped/ released yet.

Quite possibly. It's now 'out there' thanks to it being the 11th in some time zones already.

So can I just get this straight. Finck plays on the original version, Trent's only appearing on the remix?

According to the credits on Youtube, Robin does not play on nor was Trent was not involved in the original version. Josh Freese plays drums.

Robin Finck does play guitar on a few other tracks on the album Big Mess, but does not play on the track True.

Ooo, this is good. Also, Danny Elfman is almost 70 and still able to sing like that?! That's fantastic!

I popped this on in the car coming back from the coffee shop and...I was not prepared for that. Remixes (of any kind) are hit and miss for me so I didn't have very high expectations but that was a shock to the system. Holy shit.

It's cool these film composers have side projects.

Seriously, though, this is fucking great. Who knows when we'll get more NIN, but Babysitter, Isn't Everyone, and True have been some amazing surprises to scratch that itch along the way (not to mention the Bowie tribute, the Halsey record, film scores, etc).

I've not heard Danny Elfman sing before, the first listen sounded very Peter Murphy-ish to me.

It's a similar pattern but not the same beat.

Wait. You've never heard "Dead Man's Party" or "Weird Science"?! Did you see the original NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS?

Goddamn, this is so good. I'd always hoped that these two would collaborate one day, but I never really thought it would happen. Now for the next wish from my monkey's paw: Trent + Mike Patton.

The intro plus drum sounds throughout give me a Reptile-style vibe to the track.

Good point I've certainly heard nightmare before Christmas and knew he did that, I'll stand corrected. Perhaps better stated as I'm not too familiar with his singing outside of the movies or I didn't know I was listening to him. Never made the Elfman:Oingo Boingo connection.
