So I sat down with Raiders and Doom again in a better setting and more focused and I loved them the second time around. I still am not a fan of Kate Capshaw's character, but I grew to deal with her throughout the film. Some hilarious moments like when they're trapped in the spike room and Indy delivers that famous line. The imagery is awesome, and the horror like elements really surprised me this time around.
Raiders has the edge so far, but ToD looks amazing and has more memorable moments for me atm.
Along with all the Marvel delays, Disney has delayed the new IJ movie practically an entire year.
July 29, 2022 -------> June 30, 2023
I love Indiana Jones (mostly Raiders and Last Crusade) and I love Harrison Ford, but the fact that James Mangold is directing this one is the only reason I'm interested so far. Hopefully the trailer looks good when it drops...
It's taken down anyway, but I'm not interested in watching a cam trailer, let alone one that was filmed in the far left of the front row so the whole thing is at a horribly distorted angle. I can patiently wait for the released version to surface in a few days or weeks.
LET'S GOOOO
looks great, pumped for this one.
I liked it.
A lot actually. Waller-Bridge is doing an awesome job of rescuing all these franchises!
saw it Thursday evening. once I reset my expectations. I enjoyed it. I had to reset them about 20 minutes into the movie.
keep in mind, they jumped the shark with crystal skull. so anything is possible now. I had to just go with it and let myself enjoy the experience. and im glad I did.
I've never seen an Indiana Jones movie (i know) but the wife and I went and saw Dial of Destiny last night and LOVED it. I couldn't imagine anyone going to see this movie and not having a great time.
My wife and I saw it on Friday. We both loved it.
Saw it today and the movie was fun. I completely checked out and was wrapped up in it the whole time.
So glad to hear the positive reviews from the likes of you guys in this thread. Perhaps I will swing by the theater this week and catch it after work!
I'm not a fan of Indy or anything but i enjoyed it and it made me want to watch the old ones...
I was going to give this a pass, but the word-of-mouth has been pretty positive, so I'll watch it at some point.
Saw it last night and echoing everyone here pretty much...while it's not on par with the original trilogy, it's close and far better than Crystal Skull. Sure there's some scenes that were ridiculous, i.e. the Spoiler: horse chase scene, tuktuks being able to withstand that much damage, and uhh well yeah...ending up in 212 B.C. but I think everyone knows it's an over-the-top fantasy series anyways...and to be honest, few series manage to make those outlandish things as fun and believable in a 'hey, it's an Indiana Jones movie' way. Loved it.
I finally saw this tonight and people are crazy. This was exactly what an Indian Jones film should be. It was incredibly fun and I enjoyed every minute of it. People just like to complain to complain. I thought it was a great way to end it all. Did it need to be made? Of course not, no movie does. Sad to know this movie is doing poorly.
Even if some of these movies that are resurrected from days past, are not seen in the same light as the ones that paved the way, I am incredibly appreciative, that these actors and actresses are STILL doing it.
Movie was just fine. Don't have much to say, other than It was fun, and enjoyable. I actually liked Crystal Skull for what it was, so Dial fits next to that one as far as tone is concerned, for me personally.
What if I told you that Kingdom holds 77% on rotten tomatoes. That's the same score as Temple of Doom. And the new movie is just 69%
