bless! i'm a little burnt out on the banshees these days, but they are stone cold classic and suit me like an old sweater. i generally go for kaleidoscope, juju, or a kiss in the dreamhouse. an old band's singer had a penchant for singing siouxsie songs, so we covered 'night shift' once and completely trainwrecked a cover of 'desert kisses' at our third show.

i like the creatures, too- to a lesser extent. never liked the siouxsie solo record, though.

since last i visited this thread, i've given in and declared tinderbox to be the best banshees album, front to back. while juju/kiss in the dreamhouse etc. are wonderful, the latter has a song or two that's worth a skip from time to time. juju is still pretty perfect though.

    tinderbox:
experience it again, for the first time

Tinderbox is excellent. I alternate between it, The Scream and Juju as favourite.

I think Siouxie is great in all her incarnations and she deserves a "cult" spot right beside The Cure, Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy and Joy Division... she's as good as them!

    also: i love this tune!

Don't mind me over here digging up an old thread, due to my purchasing Kaleidoscope, Hyaena and Superstition on vinyl today thanks to a buy 3 for price of 2 deal on Amazon. I do think Tinderbox might be their best, though.

Oh, Juju's up there too! It wasn't one of the albums with the promotion though I'll definitely want to own it on vinyl though!

    In order of preference:

    Juju
    Kaleidoscope
    Tinderbox
    Hyaena
    A Kiss In The Dreamhouse
    Join Hands
    Peepshow
    Through The Looking Glass
    The Scream
    Superstition
    The Rapture

Don't mind me, been on a kick lately and thought I'd step up to bat for Hyaena as I don't think it ever seems to get its due.

pretty sure my ranking is exactly the same

however, at the very top of the list (even though it's just siouxsie & brian reitzell) has to be Love Crime from the Hannibal TV score

That was a great track. I wish she'd resurface a little more often.

I recently picked up the Juju and Dreamhouse LP reissues that came out about 2 years back; they sound amazing. Gonna nab the rest soon.
