One of my favorite songs by one of my favorite bands. "This is the story of Victoria Lee. She started off on percodan and ended up with me."
    Check it out.

Yeah, it's fucking GREAT if you don't mind a little twang.

It's "alt-country" or "insurgent country" or "cowpunk" or "no depression," depending on who's writing about it.

I've actually seen them live like a hundred times.

But, yeah. It's damn cool to have a song with your name in it

    Tell that to my sister.

she had three older brothers who would sing this loudly every time it came on the radio.

@Erneuert ,if THIS isn't some X Files shit, I don't know what is. Experts have figured out that "mysterious MICROWAVE WEAPONS" are being used against American CIA agents in various places.
This one poor bastard in particular says he's had an awful headache, EVERY DAY, for the past THREE YEARS. It also impacted his sight, balance, and hearing, to the point that he had to take early retirement from the CIA.
It sounds like this is the same sort of weapon used on the American Embassy in Cuba a few years ago.
Apparently, it's looking like Russian operations.

    Ha!
With the 97s song, at least it's FAIRLY obscure, so you don't have have to listen from it from all angles just because your name happens to be Victoria.

All this reminds me of my dear old friend Allyson, who once got so tired of me singing and playing that Elvis Costello song at her, that she grabbed the fucking wheel on the highway when I was driving, because I refused to turn the tape off. She COULD have fucking killed us. That's a testament to how much she hated that shit

Edit: THIS song, for anyone who doesn't know.

The premise of that article was that you act like your name or identify with your name or look like your name and it SHAPES YOUR FACIAL AESTHETIC? Hence the “Dorian Gray” title of the study?

    Here is my actual reaction:

    HAAAAAAAAAHAHAAAAHAHAAAAAHAHAHAHAAAHA

Could I become YOUNGER if I started going by BABY??

People using songs to refer to you or whatever? That’s how THEY think of your name, not you. And that’s about the name (and how stupid or goofy your friends are) and not anything do to with the above-linked study which links the kind of psychic relationship between people and their names and causes them to “resemble the name.” WHATEVER THE FUCK THAT EVEN MEANS.

I once saw a BIG BLACK DUDE who was a chef with my first name. It was emblazoned on his chef’s jacket.

Yeah I’m a buzzkill, sorry; I like “interesting” things but that one was relegated to my bullshit department. I could suddenly start going by a totally different name tomorrow and the only weird thing would be remembering it, like using the new year every year.

This seems like that meme about how “people resemble their dogs.”

Australia looks to be a beautiful country. I'm afraid I'll likely never visit, because it looks like every creature there is out to kill you.
I remember watching some Netflix show that ranked the 20 deadliest animals on Australia one hungover afternoon about 4-5 years ago.

Yeah, basically everything with the highest toxicity/best defensive attributes are here due to how isolated we are as a country. The fauna had to adapt to survive due to being so remote from everything else. Because we supposedly broke off from the rest of the world millions of years ago and were all “kbye, lol” animals evolved differently here resulting in a lot of the weirdness/poisonous attributes.

    I’ll just copypasta a quote:

Why are there so many dangerous animals in Australia?
"That is a really good question," Barr said. "There are a lot of theories. One hypothesis is it's an isolated place. A really harsh place to live and you better be tough. You better be harsh if you're going to survive."
