    Borat Subsequent Moviefilm

I haven't seen this yet but hope to this weekend. I didn't think that a sequel would really work (seemed like a one joke movie), but I've seen some positive reviews. Hoping it finally ruins whatever credibility Rudy Giuliani had left.

I didn't find the movie terribly funny.

But that bit with Giuliani, yeah, he's definitely getting himself warmed up.

So he wasn't just "tucking in his shirt?"

I passed out. Not a funny movie at all. Not some special political commentary like people are making it out to be. Borat was a one trick pony.

Parts of it were funny. Don't think I'd watch it again though.

The Giuliani scene is the highlight of course, and I love that he’s calling it a hit job. Ok man, go cozy up with Russian spies for more calculated last-minute misinformation about how Biden’s son does drugs or some shit. I don’t know if he was tucking in his shirt, but when I tuck in my shirt, I’m not lying on a bed next to a woman with my hand searching around in my pants around my crotch, right after I put my hand on her thigh.

If any guy’s wife or SO walked in the room at the same moment Borat did, you’d have a hard time explaining it. There’s no way she would believe you and why would she? How stupid would he have to be to put himself innocently in that position? “Come let’s have a drink in the bedroom?” Come on

It wasnt as good as the first movie, and almost all of it seemed scripted and acted out. There were some amusing moments there but nothing that was laugh out loud funny. Ultimately the movie feels like a pedestal for the Giuliani segment.

I thought it was pretty damn funny. My wife and I laughed a lot. I don't remember the first one very well (only saw it once back when it came out), so I can't really compare the two. I might have to re-watch the first one again soon to see.

I'm a hardcore fanboy, from day one of Ali G.

I have Ali G Indahouse on DVD, along with Bruno.

Add me to the "liked it" camp. The way they managed to make the film work when most people know who Borat is now was pretty clever, between the disguises and the user of "his daughter". Would have liked a bit more of the interactions with real people and less of the scripted stuff, but overall I thought it was thoroughly enjoyable. Was also nice to finally put that cell phone footage of him singing at that right wing rally a few months ago into context.

To me, that part was the absolute highlight of the movie, it was really funny and horrifying, I keep thinking about it! Jeesus, what is wrong with these people?!?!

I enjoyed the movie, laughed out loud several times. I have a love-hate relationship with the first one: the character was great but the plot (other than the fun premise) wasn't, but here, we got a much more thought out storyline. It didn't feel as spontaneous, but I was okay with that. It was a really pleasant surprise.

I loved the first movie because it was candid, stupid and absurd at the best levels. This movie just comes off as Republicans Suck Ass: Movie Edition. The fact Rudy Giuliani is the only thing people are talking about means there's nothing else there for the most part. The few clips I've seen and read it just comes off as a longer version of his "Who Is America" Showtime show but with only being Borat Sagdiyev in all instances and not other people. I suppose I'll need to fire up Prime on the TV sometime this week to give a real judgment. Hopefully I am wrong.

I liked it. The first one is a classic and this wasn't as good (as others have said, too much scripted stuff), but this was fun and enjoyable.

It's three angles of the same shit, and it make giuliani look like his hands are down there for way longer than they are. They multiply the time with the cuts.

Idk why we are gambling credibility on a borat movie.

Why were his hands down his pants at all?

The dancing at the debutante ball was pretty gross.

I, and keep in mind I despise Giuliani, genuinely think he's tucking in his shirt. That moment is the same second stretched out by playing it 3 or 4 times but at different angles.

That's not to say that he wasn't broadly acting inappropriate. I'm just saying this dude wasn't masturbating, and if he was touching himself like that the movie wouldn't have to fake it.

Yeah but he touches her hip in a way that is pretty suggestive, and who goes “to have a drink in the bedroom” after an interview?

They did oversell it as some To Catch A Predator moment, but unless I missed it, there’s no implication that she’s underage until Borat runs in the room in the ridiculous outfit saying it’s his daughter

And don't forget he also asked for her number and address.

I enjoyed the movie even though it was silly at certain times.

Just saw the clip where Sascha Baron Cohen describes to Conan O'Brien a deleted scene where Borat gets a job as a porn actor, and really, from the description alone it sounds like they cut one of the best scenes in the movie. Maybe the way it sounds in description surpasses the actual footage. I still laughed harder at the way he described it than practically any scene in the actual movie.

Hahaha! I actually love baklava. You reminded me of Metal Gear Solid 2, where they referred to the soldiers' masks as "balaclava", and I was like, "I could sure have some baklava right now..."

I remember when the incident showed up on the news, there was a mention about how the song went on for something like 7 or 8 minutes... it probably collectively dawned (slowly) on the people in the crowd with two brain cells to rub together.

He apparently came back out of costume to interview the aggrieved Trump supporters, but I guess that material didn’t make the cut

I thought it was pretty funny. Some parts fell flat, but then something came along that made me laugh a lot.

If this had been released a little more fleshed out instead of the first film, the reaction would have been similar. It's just that we've seen Borat once, and there's only so much Sacha can do with him.

It seems there were a few bits in the trailer that were left out the film that should have been left there.
