the new album from IDLES is epic. anyone into these guys? good noisy punk rock. I could see QOTSA fans digging it.

Love idles. New albums great but I felt a step down from the last 2. Unfortunately I didn't get into them until this year, so obviously I never got to see them live. Really hope I'll get that opportunity one day, but who knows with the way things have been going.

This came up while I was on a Tiny Desk binge and I instantly bought their first two albums. amazing energy.

Love Idles. Have to agree though, the new album is a step backwards in terms of songwriting. There's a few bangers, but overall the new album doesn't hit like either of the first two did.

That tiny desk is what made an instant fan too. Immediately got both albums and the live one.

Saw Idles in NYC this past Saturday. Amazing show and they played 3 new songs (one being the single). All 3 sounded really good and got me looking forward to the new album next month, as I thought Ultra, Mono was a bit of a step back for them.

that new single is amazing, I may or may not have put it on repeat for a 20-min run.

I used to work at the Beachland Ballroom actually. I think the best bands I saw there live during my stint were Swans and Death Grips.

Never heard of these guys though.

Can't get enough Crawler. Could be their best album yet.

For some reason, can't get into Crawler. I can listen to first two albums on repeat, not skipping anything. Ultra Mono didn't leave the same impression (although still half this album is exceedingly good but on its own) while I can't seem to remember anything from Crawler (even though I had a go at least three times) besides the first two singles. Not sure what happened. Doesn't seem that there was a drop of the quality, I guess it stopped being my cup of tea

I've watched that FtB set a handful of times, love it. Huge fan of ending on Wizz. You think the set is over, there's only a couple of minutes left, and they just shoot into this fever of a song that's over almost before you realize it's started.

literally have the URL in my ctrl-c waiting for the ctrl-v but you've already posted it.

grabbed the deluxe vinyl from bandcamp; all the versions look great but if they're all the same price why not go deluxe.

No love for tangk around here? I have to assume it will end up on many year end lists, it’s really really good stuff.
great band, they are evolving nicely.

Loved their gig before the pandemic here, but amidst all the new post-punk revival bands they fell short for me quite quickly. I love three tracks on the new one, but ultimately it's not doing much for me. There's something about Joe Talbot that I just don't like and I don't know what it is exactly. But I'm happy for those who are totally hyped these days, while I'm happy with The Murder Capital and Fontaines D.C.

I'm pretty disappointed in the new album. Listed about 6 or 7 times hoping for it to grow on me, but it's overall pretty meh. Not a bad album by any means, but just doesn't feel like the reason I got into this band. I'd rank it above Ultra, Mono, but that's it.

New album is aight, not as exciting from the jump as the latest releases from some of their stylistic contemporaries (Viagra Boys, The Armed).

I personally really like it. I find it very listenable and think the variations (harder/softer in terms of album flow) are well done. I've given it quite a few spins since release. (side note - didn't realize there's a new The Murder Capital release - so will have to check that out)

I know I'm in the minority, but Ultra Mono is actually my favorite Idles album. I dig the hell out it.

I like the new album better than Crawler.

This band kind of annoys me lol.

I dug Brutalism back in the day though.

I'm with you on Ultra Mono being my favorite, but I like Crawler much more than TANGK
