If you liked melodic/hair/pop-metal in the 90's (circa 1993-1999) it was hard to be a fan of:
Warrant
Poison
RATT
Dokken, etc.
They were all has-beens, and not kind of retro-cool yet either. I was in high school and liked all that shit at the time. Anyone remember Metal Edge Magazine? They were a refuge for all those bands, who were then signed to the now defunct CMC label, where hair bands went to die in the 90s after being dropped by their (major) labels.

I was honestly going to mention cruises, but then figured I'd get ridiculed for suggesting they'd "sink to that level".
Dark Star Orchestra is a Grateful Dead cover band. Their cruise tickets are $1800... for a cover band (admittedly, the best in the world). People are fucking weird.
I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be less than the middle of the ocean with a few thousand Tool fans.
I love the way this thread has almost been completely absorbed by Tool. Guess it really must suck to be a fan of that band, huh.
I'm a fan of Tool and it doesn't suck at all.
I know several people that are fans as well, none of them resemble fanatics from the video above.
I guess the only thing that sucked is that their lack of touring in Europe since 2008, but we're past that by now.
Any Burzum fans in the house?
Morrissey: Do I need to explain?
Mark Kozelek: Dude's post-Benji output angers people just as much as his dry sense of humor these days. He's pretty blunt a lot of the time, but I genuinely feel Mark has a big heart. Got to see a Sun Kil Moon show live last fall and someone in the crowd was heckling him and it turned out the dude was drunk and in town for a friend's funeral. Mark stopped the show, gave the dude a hug and even played "Carry Me Ohio" after he requested it ... which is 100% out of the norm for him. Sure, I can understand why people have a problem with Mark, but I do feel there's more under the surface than people give him credit for.
Ariel Pink: Ariel pissed a lot of people off in 2014 with his lighthearted comments about giving music to Madonna and unleashed the wrath of Grimes stans in the process. Guy has a reputation for being a bit of a goofball and asshole, but good god do I love his discography.
Kanye: Even I'm off the Kanye train now these days honestly. I really enjoyed Pablo, but Ye was what it was and I'm not as enamored with Kids See Ghosts as everyone else is. Possible hot take, but Jesus is King is easily one of the biggest dumps from a favorite artist I can ever recall.
U2, I guess. I always get shit from lots of people. Hasn't stopped me from seeing them in concert a lot.
I will stand by U2's 80s-90s catalog until the day I die.
Any band that plays shows at least semi-regularly but doesn't release new music.
