"In an interview with sächsische.de, German composer Sven Helbig, who arranges orchestral parts for Rammstein explained what's going on with the new Rammstein album.

When will the new (Rammstein - ed. note) album be released?
- The band itself doesn't know at the moment. The trivial reason: lack of paper. They need to be able to send out a large number of CDs and records, i.e. lots of booklets and covers, worldwide at one go. And that's probably not feasible right now.

But you are finished with your work?
- Yes, my work is finished. Two weeks ago I finally delivered. For the band, this hang-up is annoying now. The six of them don't know when the album is coming, they don't know if the tour is going to happen this year. They want to move forward, they want to play, but instead, like almost all musicians, they're sitting there wringing their hands, waiting for decisions to finally be made.

Will you reveal a few details?
- It's all under wraps, but it's also impossible, because the band often throws songs down at the last moment, changes them. Till doesn't want to rewrite a lyric, but Richard thinks it's stupid. Or the guitarists can't agree on a riff. Already a song is out. With the previous albums, I often looked forward to something I'd heard and thought it was great."

I don't see the tour happening this year to be honest, I may be wrong, but there are still so many cancellations all over the globe dependant on country & location.

I would be pretty salty if they held the new record back a year though to coincide with the eventual tour.

The band Rammstein wishes to express its support for the nation of Ukraine as it resists the shocking attack perpetrated by the Russian government.

Above all at this moment, we feel particular grief for the suffering of the Ukrainian people.

Each member of the band has various experiences of the two countries; all members of the band have friends, associates, partners, fans in both lands.

First glimpse of the cover art is out now:



Friends of mine from Berlin told me that the premiere is also being held at the Kulturbrauerei, a very special place for the band, as their first concert ever was right there. Guess it goes along nicely with the album title. I'll make sure to post some word of mouth tomorrow on what happened there. New merch will be displayed, that is for certain.

For those curious: The Trudelturm pictured on the artwork is a technical monument to aeronautics research in Berlin built from 1934 until 1936. So very history heavy... You might remember the building from Aeon Flux with Charlize Theron.

God this looks great, there's a few editions, including a deluxe edition with a couple of discs by the looks of it (not 100% on that though). Really hoping that we get some b-sides LIFAD style this time around.

So all artwork from Ramwiki is down already, guess they are waiting until the official release later today.

News is coming in that the record will be released as a double vinyl (though released on May 6th as opposed to April) and an exclusive marble variant for Amazon.de and ouf course as a Standard CD as well as CD Deluxe Edition. I also saw some kind of book that goes along with the CD Deluxe Edition (similar to the last record).

Looking forward to what a friend of mine will be sending me as he attends the event today.

EDIT: Ah, @Jord was quicker... Anyhow, I saw the pictures of said editions, but they got taken down already.

Finally, Ollie gets the spotlight instead of Till!

Till's vocals were terrific.

Got a bit of a Miyazaki feel with the Phantom designs.

The timing of these visuals, with an actual conflict in Europe - what a coincidence.

Overall, I really enjoyed it. Very melancholy. Downloaded the video, because I wonder how long YouTube will allow that quick close-up of the birthing scene to remain unedited.
