currently taping with Core Sound Stealthy Cardioids into Core Sound Battery Box into Sony PCM-A10

I have been going to concerts for nearly 20 years. I became interested in taping myself after I found recordings of a Rammstein show from 1999, and a Nine Inch Nails show from 2000, both that I had attended. About 6 years ago, I bought myself a PCM recorder, and I havent looked back since. Taping has compleatly reinverogaited my love for live music and travel in general! If you think "the bands I tape suck" or they are "nu metal" (some of them are,) I tape so I can relive concerts I have attended, first and foremost, so get lost. As those of you who indulge in this hobby know, taping can be stressful (for a number of reasons), therefore, not every show I go to I tape! Sometimes I would just rather hang out in the crowd and soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the music (my moshing days are waaaaay past me).

I use my YouTube channel as an easy means to share my tapes. Links posted in the below posts. I will be updating this post as I tape more. I have everything archived in FLAC and can provide downloads upon request.

So, I've actually been to at least four of the concerts you've taped (including two festivals). I've got several of them on my iPod and they all sound great!

It's been awhile since I've updated this thread...

-One of my mics crapped out on me, so I upgraded my rig to a set of powered Core Sound Stealthy Cardiodis and the difference in quality is staggering, it's like night and day. There was an issue with loose connections inside my battery box for the Mastodon and Marilyn Manson sets, but those have been resolved and I've been VERY satisfied with the new setup...

-I also got a new deck, a Sony PCM-A10. The ability to control it thru Bluetooth with my phone is a total game changer. No more risking getting popped because I was checking levels on my deck. There was a security guard not five feet from me when I made my Mastodon tape.

-The quality of recordings coming from our local events center is unbelievable. My Ghost and Ministry tapes I made there are hands down the best sounding tapes I've ever made.

Damn, you were at Riot Fest 2015? I would've loved a recording of The Prodigy's set.

I wish I had, but unfortunately 2015 was a low point for me.

The Prodigy was the deciding factor in me going to Chicago Open Air 2019
It was still an awesome show, my first time seeing Ghost and System of a Down, and it was sweet seeing Tool twice in one week, but I tell you the atmosphere was depressing that second day. I saw a lot of people in Prodigy shirts that day too, so I know I wasn't the only one.

    Rip keef, firestarter FOREVER

(at least Liam has said "new prodigy tunes will roll" so there is hope I can still see him and Maxim tear up the stage someday)

(And yes I sure as hell will tape that!!)

Updated with upcoming shows I'm going to. Ministry with KMFDM and Front Line Assembly and 2x Rammstein stadium shows (Feuerzone for both!!). I also might be attending Rock USA in Oshkosh WI in mid July again this year. Funny how for months and months there were no shows and then BAMMMM all at once things get announced.

Added Rock USA to that list, I opted for the VIP again because it was fucking awesome, and I was able to get the seats that I taped Devildriver from in '18 because I know it will turn out good.

First update in awhile, this covid shit has me bummed out as it has basically killed my hobby for the foreseeable future.

However, I started a sub reddit for myself and will be using that going forward for sharing my tapes. Come join the discussion!
