Cleaning things out for a garage sale, came across a pair of Nintendo DS Lites. They had not been touched (or charged) in at least 5 years, probably 7. Pushed the switches just for grins and they both turned on, that's some Nokia 5160 kind of longevity.

Also, I found out I had a somewhat valuable copy of GBA Metroid Zero Mission, felt like finding $40 in an old jacket.

Had that the other day when I was - strictly for shits and giggles because of the price - looking at official Gamecube component cables. Turns out the S-video cables that fit the SNES, N64, and GC (I'm so glad HDMI brought cable uniformity back) are somewhat expensive and I have all three of the ones I ordered back when I still had an SNES, N64, and GC. haven't sold them, haven't even been thinking about it really, but yeah it was like I found a couple $20s just laying around.

    x-posted from the bioshock thread

has anyone played the bioshock collection on the switch? if so, how is it? i have all three games for PS3 but i really, really don't like playing games on the PS3 (the controller honestly makes my hands ache after a very short time). i shouldn't be spending money right now but i also am up to almost 300 hours in dead cells and i really need to play something different.

We're thinking of getting our son a Switch for Christmas but, as you probably know, they're pretty hard to come by for non-secondary market prices. I'm way out of the gaming loop...is there a realistic chance for a decent holiday supply that won't require A. camping outside a store nor B. paying 2x retail? I used to work in retail electronics so I used to understand the supply chain but that was a while ago and I'm not sure how it applies to 2020.

follow Wario64 on twitter, he's always on the spot with restocks and availability for video game stuff.

Of course there are a lot of people who follow him so there's also that.

WELL THAT WAS EASY. I had given up on Amazon because every time I checked it was marketplace listings $375+ but he linked to someone taking preorders. Hopefully it doesn't end up being a fiasco. Thanks for the tip!

Collection of SaGa (Final Fantasy Legend I, II, and III) coming digitally to Switch Dec. 15 for $19.99!! Fuck yes... I have soooo much nostalgia for FFL2 it's not even funny.

wait, they made a 3D collection but no Galaxy 2? wtf? is there going to be a 3D collection 2 with Galaxy 2 and NSMB Wii and...maybe the DS games? weird collection all-round.

and the RC car thing looks dope, if you have a room big enough for that.

This was the only thing from the direct that really got me excited. This is like Nintendo's version of "Fall Guys"
I'm pretty excited for this. Sad it's only for a limited time. I'll have to play the heck out of that while I can.
Less than a month for it as well!

Jesus fucking christ Mario Kart Live is easily the coolest thing Nintendo has done in YEARS. I can't stop thinking about it. I want it so bad. I'm already thinking of the track i'm going to make in my house. My dog is gonna lose his mind. I'm gonna lose my mind. OMG

did you see how the game is free to download? I love that there is a two-player option, though I do wonder about the MK rubber-band AI.

I can't believe there weren't any rumors about this at all.

i would be very excited but for the fact that the short sales window - even for digital - means I won't be able to buy it.

Yeah, I don't get the time limit on the digital version, perhaps they're going to sell them separately afterwards. Which is fine for me because I only really want Sunshine.

I don't get the purpose of pulling a digital game? Limited physical run, I get. They want sales. Figure limited will make people panic. Probably limited supply as well...

I've never even played Sunshine, so I'm super excited about 3D All-Stars. Retailers seem to still be taking orders; I'm glad this isn't the total shitshow that was trying to get All-Stars on the Wii if anyone remembers that.

It's probably only free to download because you need all the physical parts to play (cars, gates, etc.).

DKC2 and Super Mario Picross!! Also, some Scat is headed to the Switch. I've never even heard of the Peace Keepers.

Kind of mad that the Super Mario pins that Nintendo were giving away for the 3D All-Stars were limited like they were. Also that you didn't have to complete all of the challenges so there were people who ordered them before the Mario Kart Tour challenge was up. Why was that on the list if it was optional?

    mostly I'm mad I didn't get a set, yes, but it's for those reasons I didn't.
