After a summer tour, Rob Zombie returned to the editing bay to complete Three From Hell, the third film in the Firefly family’s story that follows both House of 1,000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects. Last night, Zombie took to social media to announce the completion of the film that brings Sid Haig, Sheri Moon Zombie, and Bill Moseley back for one final film. This is also the first time that Zombie addresses the trilogy, which he says is also “complete”. Those hoping for a franchise continuation may be disappointed.
Three From Hell introduces a pair of new clowns including “Mr. Baggy Britches”, who will be played by Clint Howard (Halloween, The Lords of Salem and even El Superbeasto), as well as Jeff Daniel Phillips (Uncle Seymour Coffins in Zombie’s Halloween 2), who is said to become a franchise staple. Back in September, Moseley teased that much more of that “gratuitous violence” is on the way, which promises to make gore-hounds happy.
“It’s going to be a crowd-pleaser,” he told Rue Morgue. “From what I’ve heard from Rob, he’s very happy and excited about what he’s got, and it’s chockablock with gratuitous violence [laughs], which is great, because lately there have been a lot of good horror movies that just don’t have a lot of that.”
