Trent said something to the effect of “it’s a f***ing weird setlist tonight. But it felt appropriate.”

That tease had me so excited. Also spoke about Kanye, and how people tell him his music saved them but his music really save him. He was quite a talkative bugger tonight. Fun night, fun setlist. Wish I got to hear some of the new stuff, but I'll take the songs from NTAE which I hadn't heard yet.

When A Warm Place started as the encore opener, my first thought was, "oh please". And then TR delivered. I think I lost my voice screaming

What a strange setlist. It was great having absolutely no idea what was going to happen. We should have gotten one or two more songs, but what can you do? The Becoming was a monster live tonight. HiS too. Burning Bright was cool to place right at that stage of the show.

Well that was...something. I really enjoyed Saturday but Sunday's show was on a whole 'nother level. Looking at the songs by themselves there really weren't any shockers as most or all have been played on the tour but the set order was in-fucking-credible. Bigtime troll opening but really cool to hear those songs in progression. Someday they will play The Fragile and I really hope it's one of those 'performed -in-its-entirety' announced sets (maybe Left night 1 and Right night 2) because I will fucking fly there...wherever it is. I digress.

    Highlights for me:
The Becoming - aside from TPD this was the song I was really hoping to see. I liked the electric guitar breakdown and wasn't expecting that. Aside: was Robin playing off stage? Seemed like he disappeared and returned near the end of the song.
Great Destroyer - Full Sonic Assault. What speech was underneath?
Burning Bright - 100% tight and loud...fucking fantastic song live. The lights and fog make it even better.
Help Me > Slavery - Unreal

Oh and NIN rubbers raining down near the merch booth.

Overall: I echo @bobbiesolo...we had no idea what was coming next and it was fantastic. Looking forward to Brooklyn...hoping they treat it as NYC 3 / 4 and not Brooklyn 1 / 2.

The Becoming and HMIAIH/Happiness were worth the price of the ticket alone.

Wow, what an amazing show!!! Radio City is really beautiful, I just couldn't believe the $11 beer! Haha Can't wait for Tuesday!

Does anyone know what was being said during The Great Destroyer?

These are the songs that really saved the night for me. The setlist was unpredictable (which is always a good thing) but was lacking on the deep cuts. I'm a spoiled NIN fan, this show was the 4th time I've seen them in just over a year, so I'm always dying for songs I've never heard live before.

I am very satisfied after going to both Radio City shows. Until a few weeks ago I never thought I'd ever get to see TPD and Happiness live. Wish I could continue the journey to the Brooklyn shows but just too tough to pull that in the middle of the week for me.

I'm pretty sure it's audio from Trump, probably a campaign speech or something. It was pretty surreal with the beats and the lights going at the same time, felt like I was being brainwashed or something.

Ya know, I always have a similar reaction when I hear the beat and see the red lights but Alessandro's bassline after the breakdown and Robin's animated outro are redeeming qualities.

It was def. Trump. Atticus has been throwing that in during every performance of TGD based on other people's comments on here.

Trent said after HiS: "you guys knowing we're playing in Brooklyn the day after tomorrow come out". I would hope that means we won't get much repetition at the very least, and at best one of the two shows will be something special.

Brooklynvegan has had good write-ups thus far for both Radio City shows:

And the post for last night's show has some great videos, part. the one right directly up front from a YT user named "Lila". Any chance you're an EtS member?

As another extremely spoiled NIN fan, I'll cop to being both ecstatic (TPD! HIS! ATLITW!) and mildly frustrated (oh, that Fragile tease) with the setlists over the last couple of nights. Obviously attending shows with an increasingly short never-heard-live checklist is a pretty good way to ensure disappointment, so I'm heavily weighting my rational brain's "this was AMAZING" assessment versus my slightly less effusive knee-jerk emotional response.

    To that end:

    1) The band sounded absolutely fantastic. After the Gift shows' occasionally painful audio tracks, I never let myself take Trent's voice for granted. The fact that he's able to mix in screamers like HIS while continuing to hit the high notes elsewhere is miraculous (presumably the ~95 minute sets help on that front as well). Accolades for the other band members are obviously due, but I probably give Ilan the MVP award thanks to his Perfect Drug solo. I've always wished the studio version were mixed louder in that regard, so his work was all I could have hoped for and then some.

    2) With Pitchfork having spoiled TPD and HIS (whoops), the big surprises for me were ATLITW on Saturday and the return of I Can't Give... last night. I assumed I'd probably never see the former, figuring that Trent only debuted it during Tension primarily due to Sharlotte and Lisa's presence. I'm thrilled to have been wrong! I Can't Give... honestly wasn't that high up on my personal wish list, but as far as covers go, it seemed quite fitting and worked really well in the set (still scratching my head at Digital, but my inability to get into Joy Division accounts for that pretty well).

    3) I didn't click until this morning, but the crowds on both nights were pretty fantastic, at least from my vantage point - very respectful response to quieter tracks and only a few isolated catcalls. Not that such behavior is exclusive to casual fans, but I wouldn't be surprised if the filtering effect of the Physical World presale (not to mention ticket and booze prices generally) helped here.

I can't wait to see what's on tap for Brooklyn. While I have a love-hate relationship with GA pits, there's a part of me that feels like a NIN show isn't truly complete if I haven't left at least a few pounds of water weight behind in the venue...

For a “sold out” show, I was pleasantly surprised to pickup a pit ticket at face value (fuck you ticket brokers) from TM. It was a choice between NIN & Mew and obvs I needed another new BW event shirt to get closer to a complete collection. Plus it was my first time at RCMH.

It was easier for me to rock out since there were seats in front of me to keep my balance & it was another tight performance from the gang. When the drummer plays a cello & the guitarist plays a xylophone - you know these guys are at the top of their game. I really hope they take a couple of shows to document this tour with a home video.

El Rezzo's voice is sounding fantastic. I was very glad to be in the pit for this one! JJ the night before was just not right.....
The support was not as good as Kite Base, but it wasn't bad. Nothing has ever been as bad as the Berlin support. The biggest disappointment was checking TicketBastard in the morning and seeing over 100 tickets in the double letter good seats which they had been withholding for some inexplicable reason. Shit practice. Bunch of twats.

Also can someone explain to me why people have to yell during quiet songs? Honestly, why does someone in the pit (for example the topless guy with a harness before the show..) feel compelled to yell "I fucking love you Robin" during La Fucking Mer?! WHY? Can someone who likes to "whoop" or "yeaaah" during quiet bits explain your motive to me please? Specifically people who don't even let bloody Reznor finish the second verse of Hurt (or even a sentence when he is trying to talk to the audience between songs) before just HAVING to scream? It appears orders of magnitude higher in the States that anywhere else in the world. Strange behaviour.

It was an absolute pleasure to see some old friends and make some new. Many people I've known for years but never met because this was my first trip to the east coast. The perfect blend of old and new. Happy to bring my shenanigans to Radio City.

Sorry to the lady I pelted in the face with a condom. So upset that you walked out of the merch line. It was not my intention. Just trying to have a little fun for myself and the fans.

I think he's the guy wearing the beanie hat at the start of this video (alas I don't think he's a member):

They hold them back for label/mgmt//ticket promoter/venue guests & artist guest list. In bigger music industry cities like NY & LA, there's going to be alot of things held back & then released day of if they haven't been claimed yet.

So funny how a whole show is already online. You kids and your technology.
