I think they are going to win awards with this soundtrack. It shows how truly versatile and creative and artistic they are. It is Trent’s biggest departure yet from anything we have heard them do before.

Agreed. It's certainly the most excited I've been by one of their scores since The Social Network and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. It's among the most inventive scores (for TV or film) that I've heard in the past five years.

Emmys, yes: "Outstanding Music Composition For A Limited Series, Movie, Special"

Golden Globes...appears not, motion picture score award only.

After tonight’s episode, I’m betting Volume 3 will be the soundtrack to the Doctor Manhattan documentary, which seems to be similar to The Vietnam War by Ken Burns.

Was that TR&AR's cover of Life On Mars? If so, I can't wait for Volume 3.

I think I was so stunned and excited by Doc Manhattan's return that I genuinely didn't even notice Life on Mars. I'm gonna have to rewatch it because I have no idea what you guys are talking about.

Seems so, time checks out. Wouldn’t be surprised if this gets pulled.

V2 vinyl showed up and the box was damaged. Luckily the actual vinyl was fine, just a small ding on the corner, but certainly not bad enough to warrant sending it back and dealing with any potential stock issues.

Amazon officially delivered Vol 2 today, FINALLY. Never had tracking info either. They simply just said “it’s shipped” and didn’t update shit until it hit my door this morning.

Someone must be paying attention, because the title and description were both updated to add the question mark.

This cover is gorgeous. Watchmen has really brought us some great music, right at the very top of their score work thus far.

Spoke with someone at Amazon, if your order is delayed it's likely that the nearest fulfillment center didn't have enough. They moving product from another facility, fuggedaboutit!

So Amazon.com is shipping them but Amazon.ca and other Canadian retailers has December 20th for volume 2 & 3 and still can’t provide volume 1.

THE WAY IT USED TO BE

Spoiler: I am soooooo happy to see TR/AR have expanded into a new genre and style. For them there is no greater feeling than standing back as you listen to the final version of a song you wrote, and that moment you realize that you have pulled off a 1940s swing/traditional pop song production. When I was a kid I had 'Hooked on Swing' on cassette and played it a lot, so this song is welcomed by me!

Fantastic job with the brass, wood, and ivory. Wow. Did TR/AR actually write the parts for the brass and wood; with help from Dan I assume?

    More swing please.

I don’t know if this has been mentioned but the music played during Veidt’s trial is from Mozart’s Requiem (Lacrimosa). The film also used Mozart’s Requiem (requiem aeternam) near the end after he pulls off his plan and Dr Manhattan gets all big crashing into his Antarctica base.

Does anybody have a hi-res artwork of Volume 2 yet? American Hero Story version, not the digital one.

So far the best scan is the small one on NIN.com. I have a feeling that as soon as Amazon "officially" releases Vol. 2 tomorrow, they'll change the artwork.

The best I've been able to find is this one. At least it's bigger than the one on nin.com.

super jealous some of you received volume 2. I ordered all three on day 1, and Volume 1 showed up fine. This round though, I have watched all 4 of my "arriving today by 8pm" delivery promises come and go.
