@neorev I added an embed into the lead post so everyone can see the news without getting Instagram first.

I actually included a screenshot of the Instagram post in the lead post. Looks like you embedded it just after. So it's doubled. Will delete my pic.

I had zero interest in this until now, wow. TR&AR making music to go with Dr. Manhattan’s origin is the stuff of dreams.

I actually enjoyed the movie though I never read the graphic novel. One of my favorites comic book movies. Gasp! My love of the movie made me worry about this show. But I absolutely loved The Leftovers, so Lindell involvement had me interested. The Leftovers is amazing.

I must confess I've never read the graphic novel (yet), but I really actually like the Director's Cut version of the movie. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I was on nin.com for something about an hour ago, and was coming back to it to look through the store - and that fresh update was the first thing I saw. Holy shit - like everyone else, my interest in this series just spiked like CRAZY. What a way to set the tone! Very exciting indeed.

so.. you folks should definitely read Watchmen. i was able to enjoy the Snyder movie for what it was, but if you have ever read and enjoyed a comic or graphic novel (even if you haven't) you should give Watchmen a shot.

The graphic novel is incredibly dark, so TR & AR are perfect for this. I'm excited even more for this project now.

I was probably going to watch this anyway. The Leftovers is genuinely excellent, and ended so well it made me forgive Lindelof for Lost. I was looking forward to seeing what he did with Watchmen (from what I've heard, it's not an adaptation of the comic. It's a new story set in the same world, and maybe featuring some of the same characters.) But now, I'm obviously super hyped.

(And yes, you should read the comic. It's much better than the movie, even though the movie slavishly sticks to the source material. Except for the squid thing, but the squid thing is the only part of the comic I'm not a fan of. I think the movie's change there was for the better.)

I've been wanting Trent & Atticus to tackle some sort of dark superhero tale ever since "Theme For Tetsuo: The Bullet Man", and they couldn't have picked a better project.

The movie was great, and as a good a Watchmen movie as we'll probably ever get.

I'm totally on board with this. Also seeing TR get super excited about it as well is brilliant!

I'm picturing, like, a 14-disc vinyl box set for this soundtrack.

Watchmen news AND TPD live dropped in the same week. For NIN, the end of 2018 is going to make the end of 2016 look like child's play.

I wonder how much this is going to slow down their film work. AFAIK this isn't a mini-series and I would suspect work on scoring a series takes a fair bit longer than a movie would.

Yes, but hopefully the series will also use "needle drop" source music in a good way (I'm thinking of Burns & Novick's Vietnam, rather than Snyder's Watchmen -- which had the WORST use of pre-existing music in cues that I've ever heard in a Hollywood film).

I think you're thinking of Suicide Squad.

Possibly worse, granted, but I spared myself that torment.
