As glorious as a new MBV record would no doubt be, I won't believe it actually exists until I have it in my hands, locked in a room with curtains drawn. This dude has "said" so many things regarding MBV over the years, only for nothing to materialize. He's been allegedly working on the Loveless / IA vinyl reissues for what feels like a decade now. How much attention to detail could two albums and 80 minutes of music possibly warrant?

So yea, a new MBV album + vinyl reissues would be terrific. But I'm not holding my breath for either anytime soon..

I feel the same way, but i'm blindly hopeful at the same time. I love Shield's work, he is a fucking genius. Of course I wish MBV were more prolific, but at least this gives me hope.

Been listening to Death of Lovers a lot lately (members of Nothing...think Nothing meets The Cure)...so good to hear their EP "The Acrobat" is finally dropping next month. Extra bonus is a mention in this article that they've already begun work on the next Nothing album which should be dropping in 2018!

On repeat the past few days...ambient drone guitar post rock (think Hammock). Good stuff...the last track 'For Dad' is amazing.

I'm not sure if anyone here knows of or likes The Daysleepers - they were one of my favorite new discoveries about a decade ago and had so much potential and then completely fell off the planet. Now they're back with some new singles and apparently a new album this year.

They have a very apparent Slowdive/MBV/Cure influence.

Anyone else like Spectres Dying album? I just bought their 2nd album Condition. I didn’t even realize it came out last year, lol. If it’s anything like Dying it will be awesome. I love how harsh they can get and the dynamics they bring to their sound.

Don’t know if this is classed as dream pop but 2 Australian bands, formed by various live members of tame impala, have some fantastic albums out. Check out the band POND and also check out GUM . These bands albums differ so much so discover yourself as the songs I linked may not be to your taste

My weekly Spotify discovery playlist clued me into a band called Marriages. Good stuff. It's kind of heavy, kind of dreampop, she kind of sounds like Chelsea Wolfe or Dolores O'Riordan. I'm digging it.

Emma's solo stuff is great too! She has a new album coming out in September.

If you like that, you should look up Red Sparowes. It's the same group of musicians, plus a couple more. Also really good.
