What, you don't like Dance? I'd take it over Warriors any day. Still one of my favourite LPs.

Yeah, I should have had it on the list. It has some great tracks ("Moral", "Crash", "You Are, You Are") I just found that it might be a little too experimental for someone entering in to Numan for the first time. It was one of my first Numan albums.

Does anyone know which 4 songs Gary played on that show? No one seems to have it uploaded yet, someone on NumanME just said he played 4 tracks but didn't specify them.

I haven't heard anything of the listing yet.

update: I check NAGNFC (North American Gary Numan Fan Club) to see if there was any news of the four track set but nothing has been posted yet.

Nothing yet. I checked the link a few minutes ago and it still says that the footage will be available shortly. As for NAGNFC reporting, nothing on that site either - I think the guy who does most of the updates is on break (but I'm not sure, last update was Dec. 15).

ahh, last night's post i made here disappeared. on the subject of numan's mid-period records, i found my radio station promos of i, assassin and new anger over the holiday. while they're clearly not numan's best (nor do the touch many of the other great records from the 80s), i have a soft spot for both records. i've always felt though, that numan's best material post-telekon came from collaborations----> dramatis 'love needs no disguise' and sharpe & numan's 'change your mind.'

Way to dismiss more than a dozen albums in one word, dude. You rule.

I like the stuff he's done with Ade Fenton; that guy has a talent for polishing off Numan's ideas and getting the best performances out of him, which simply didn't exist with a lot of the previous collaborations.

If you want a mixed bag of utter shit and amazingly good occasional songs and b-sides, listen to anything from after "Dance" to "Machine + Soul".

Everything post-1994 is industrial, dark and awesome.
"Machine + Soul" Is worth checking out? I always thought that was his worst album.. well according to him anyways. No love for "Berserker" btw?

No it isn't. I said if you want a mixed bag with some good b-sides (which M+S has), check anything out between Dance to M+S. Re-read my reply to the question made.

Berserker had (like the rest of the mid-80's Numan albums) some good tracks - This is New Love, Cold Warning and The Hunter.

Strange Charm had a few songs that I enjoyed - My Breathing, I Can't Stop, This is Love.

A few personal favorites (which some Numan fans have mixed feelings about) are Metal Rhythm and Outland. There a number of tracks that I enjoyed - Voix and America (from MR) + My World Storm, Dark Sunday and Outland (from Outland).

I feel bad now... I completely forgot about those particular tracks, they are both great. I also love I Still Remember from The Fury.

The link is up for the In Your Face show.

    Tracks:
    Dead Son Rising
When the Sky Bleeds, He Will Come
For the Rest of My Life
    Are 'Friends' Electric?

    ---

I know that the songs are stripped back but I was hoping they would be a little more acoustic. Granted I haven't had the chance listen watch another In Your Face set before, but I was looking forward to an acoustic version of For the Rest of My Life when I saw this listing. ....Now I want a Jagged Edge style two disc of Dead Son (Rising) to be released with an acoustic version.

I was hoping he'd do older stuff... Absolution, stuff from Sacrifice, etc.
