pretty much every other quote in there is from a Sanders person hence the 90.

    Also:
Sanders had good reason to block the appointments, Gunnels said. "We were afraid if [the Republican appointments] had been put into place they would have resurrected [a five-year plan] calling for closure of 13,000 post offices and 252 mail processing plants, substantially slowing down mail delivery. That would have led to a death spiral in the Postal Service."

Is Gunnels willing to reconsider the decision in hindsight? He replied with a firm "no."
"Hey, know what we were worried about? That thing that Trump did. Are we worried we made the wrong decision and things ended up the way we feared? also no.

The VAST majority of the rest of the party is totally ignoring his shit right now. They want him to go away. They’re stuck between a rock and a hard place: If they denounce what he says, Trump publicly goes after them, and they and their families get death threats; if they go along with what he says, they risk the same thing plus losing a substantial moderate conservative Republican base that’s totally sick of DJT.

Trump has already imploded the GOP.

They may want him to go away, especially establishment people like Mitch McConnell and such. Like I said, I think the only people who REALLY believe this shit are people like Marjorie Taylor Green.
SO, these candidates have to bet on moderate conservatives or the trump party.

If 2 thirds of the electorate still thinks he won this time NEXT year, well...

At any rate, it will be interesting I would LOOOOOOVE to see, say, House Republicans denounce trump en masse.

But I think THEY have to stand up. I think trump is still very much the leader of the gop base. I think some of you guys underestimate this.
And it isn't just where I live: I mean, it's not as if I KICK it with people up here.

I love that he’s actually calling the election results (in quotes) “The Really Big Lie.” The actual big lie is the stolen election bullshit, Goebbels.

It's funny that "The Big Lie" is what he's pushing that he won and his galaxy-brain turnaround is calling Biden winning "The Really Big Lie". I mean, that's him to a T: steal steal steal.

So now trump is suing the Jan 6th investigative committee, trying to block the release of related White House records. Gee, totally sounds like an innocent guy with nothing to hide

I would really love to see every politician backing this bullshit just completely end their career in shamed disgrace. If history books don’t shit all over these people…

History is written by the winners, hence Texas etc. looking to remove 'critical race theory' and other topics.

which is depressing af so I'm going to bike home and try to not think about anything but the bike for ~20 minutes.

There’s a way out for the GOP: Join up with the liberals, temporarily, only to get rid of the populist white supremacist autocrat, to save the country.

    Like the Czechs just did:

Here’s where I’m losing it… ok Trump, you don’t want the Jan 6 Committee to get to the bottom of what was really going on? Then shut up! Fuck off! Go. Away. But if you won’t do that and you keep riling up your fan base, then we are going to probe

Everyone wants to move on but he won’t let it happen!

Trump thinks Thomas Jefferson was a “principal writer” of the U.S. Constitution.

Jefferson was not a writer, at all, of the U.S. Constitution.

The U.S. Constitution should be amended to require that all presidential candidates pass a test demonstrating their knowledge of the U.S. Constitution, including the Constitutional Convention.

    Republicans want to move on.

Trump people want to move on from January 6 but NOT from the “Big Steal.”

Everyone ELSE wants a full investigation, because it’s obvious that it was all an inside job. And that’s why Trump is so hot to hide the evidence.

Edit: Personally, I don’t EVER want to move on. I don’t EVER want us to forget. We watched January 6th happen live on TV, and it was terrifying. It became obvious pretty quickly, to me, that the Capitol Police had ZERO ability to control the situation that was unfolding as we watched, or to protect our elected officials inside (or their staff). It sounds alarmist, but I still think that it was just as awful as watching 9/11. Because the terrorists were domestic, and they were 100% trying to subvert our Constitution and laws and overturn an election to install someone who WASN’T duly elected.
