maybe the Trump Epilogue thread should make a grand reappearance?

And why does Brietbart have the exclusive on this?

    UPDATE 2:21 p.m. ET:
Another interesting fact from the warrant is that Judge Reinhart gave the Justice Department and FBI a lot of time to execute it. While the DOJ and FBI took their time–waiting three days to do it–technically the document says that Reinhart authorized the feds to wait even longer all the way until next Friday on Aug. 19 to execute it. While we still do not have the underlying affidavits that represent what the FBI and DOJ took to the judge to seek and gain his approval for the warrant, that seems to indicate that the judge did not think this is so serious that immediate or urgent action was needed to be taken as he gave the authorities two full weeks–or 14 full days–in which to execute the warrant.
A warrant is issued on date A, it can be acted upon for up to two weeks later. This is common for warrants and not the gotcha they think it is.

    UPDATE 2:25 p.m. ET:
Attachment B to the warrant delineates the three statutes which agents are pursuing evidence under. They are: 18 U.S.C. 793, 2071, and 1519.
Why whatever are those, I wonder.

    (Added
    Pub. L. 107–204, title VIII, 802(a), July 30, 2002, 116 Stat. 800
    .)
    UPDATE 2:43 p.m. ET:
All of this is technically irrelevant anyway because Trump–who as president has original and absolute declassification authority–said he declassified all of these documents. “Number one, it was all declassified,” Trump said on Truth Social moments ago. “Number two, they didn’t need to ‘seize’ anything. They could have had it anytime they wanted without playing politics and breaking into Mar-a-Lago. It was in secured storage, with an additional lock put on as per their request.”
Except you can't declare declassification like you're Michael Scott just because you want it. and even the president can't declassify nuclear secrets. and finally you can't put a god damn lock on a door and call it good.

    EDIT for Breitbart explanation:

Well unless Melania hid nuclear readiness footnotes in her shoeboxes I'm pretty sure the FBI didn't give a flying fuck about her closet.
Now if the safe was there, yeah, tough luck, you gonna have to Marie Kondo that back yourself.

Past a certain level of privilege I think people are barely tethered to the rest of us humans. They end up sounding like offended greek gods, ready to kill or off themselves as soon as a fly farts in their vicinity. A messy closet, the horror...

Well no; I know that's not what's happening here. They're trying to churn more outrage by turning Melania into an innocent, collateral victim queen, sullied by the gaze and inquisitiveness of these corrupt agents of the enemy.

Omit the sorry and it's more accurate. Also, throw in demanding ID so that they can see if the residents have any outstanding warrants.

But if the news continues going like this maybe it won't matter as much.

the truth is... you can't just jump in the limousine and wipe those tears away, because this time, everyone is fucking SICK of his shit, and we're not going to let Liz get thrown under the bus.

At this point I will jump under a bus for Liz, and I don't want to do it. But if you make me and there's a bus nearby, I'm under it at this point.

Fuck you republicans. You had a breakup, you had your stupid party, now man the fuck up and try again, but ditch that ex.

Yes! Please cancel student debt, at least a significant amount. I have over 140K in debt and it's really depressing. I feel like I'll never be able to be a homeowner, or get a new car in a few years when the one I have will fall apart basically. I feel like I can't breathe.

Sad thing is, there's people out there who have it even worse when it comes to student loan debt.

I did not know Louie Gohmert was this big of a loser. I mean I knew he was a loser, but come on.

Now he’s leaving Congress because he opted to run for Texas attorney general instead of reelection for his seat — which he presumably would have won easily.

He entered the Republican primary for attorney general last November — months after the other candidates, including incumbent Ken Paxton — and raised by far the least amount of money. He came in last place.

He exits office as Texas’ ninth most senior member of Congress, having made a mark — but not legislatively. In nine congressional terms, he’s passed just one bill into law, a measure in 2017 that simplified the process for calling 911.

and it's his birthday today? ah, wow.

They also know he never pays any bills, and he demands they do what he says which opens attorneys up to sanctions and possibly losing their law license.

For the teachers here, or people in public service with Federal student loans where this might apply, there is relief available.

My neighbor was a special Ed teacher for many years; she retired and the entire balance of her loan was wiped out, AND now there’s no taxes on that income.

It’s likely that this is extended.

Thank you for that. I will look into signing up for it this weekend and see if it helps. I have a long way to go to reach the 10 year mark and I am strongly considering leaving education, I don't even think I can make it 10 years, tbh, but I will certainly give this a shot. Either way, the next 10 years at the very least are going to be incredibly brutal for me. But I'm still thankful though.

You don't have to work as a teacher for 10 years; you just have to make 10 years' worth of payments while working for a "qualified employer." It says the specific job doesn't matter.

What counts as a government employer for the PSLF Program? Any U.S. federal, state, local, or tribal government agency is considered a government employer for the PSLF Program.
Any U.S. federal, state, local, or tribal government agency is considered a government employer for the PSLF Program. This includes employers such as the U.S. military, public elementary and secondary schools, public colleges and universities, public child and family service agencies, and special governmental districts (including entities such as public transportation, water, bridge district, or housing authorities).

A government contractor isn’t considered a government employer.
Do $0 payments count for PSLF?
Yes. Any month when your scheduled payment under an income-driven plan is $0 will count toward Public Service Loan Forgiveness if you also are employed full-time by a qualifying employer during that month.
You need to apply before October 31st.

Hang in there. You do important work that sadly is taken for granted to a hideous degree. Old saying about people with kids & dogs: people with them always want to share their problems, haha. Joke, I actually like kids & dogs but don't have any myself.
