Literally less effective than switching out a 50 cent cable for a $5 one. Excuse me while I buff discs with a Polo shirt and compare them to discs buffed with a t-shirt.

Topshelf Records is having a sale -- $15 for 10 randomly selected CD's from their incredible back catalog, which includes several of my favorite albums of all time (like Really From's self-titled and toe's Hear You).

On the topic of CDs, i thought this was a really great anthem or ode to the format.

I'm happy because I found several rare Doors live albums on Amazon and eBay. The Doors Live in Philadelphia '70 is going for $200.00+ and I found a copy for $40.00 in mint condition.

So, there’s a CD recycling center that had to shut down during COVID and they can’t afford to reopen without fundraising. I used to send junk CDs and DVDs to these guys from time to time and I think they provide a really important service. They are pretty close to their goal, but I’ve been watching their gofundme off and on for a while and the donations have been super stagnant for a long time. I donated once but wasn’t able to do more for them. I’m putting the link here to see if any of you folks would like to help them out. Thanks!

This is a great topic for this thread! As someone who still collects CDs and DVDs, what would merit them to be junk? At the very least, things can be resurfaced and donated.

Things that are unplayable/broken for sure, but I can also see tons of people dumping items because they view optical media as "obsolete".

We all know what happened to the value of vinyl records when people kicked them to the curb in the 90s.

When I say junk CDs, I mean ones that have CD rot, super deep scratches, CD-Rs that I have burned but don't need/want anymore, etc.
