I swear Gary Numan was in line in front of me for a drink a bit ago.

I guess the sound is fucked up, everything the band playing is super quiet.

Great show! Let’s do it again tomorrow, shall we?

I’ll post my thoughts tomorrow. I’m at The Pink Taco right now... I need to get some food in my belly.

The Wretched unplugged was... interesting. Felt like a pretty uninspired setlist, but I’m still optimistic for tomorrow night!

I thought for sure TR would crack a joke about the fog machines setting off The Joint’s fire alarms.

Anyhow, I will never stop loving the “Fireman” intro w/the NIN logo animation. I really wish @kraw could have uploaded it on NIN.com for posterity.

Speaking of uploads, I definitely want to see the updated version of TGD saved someplace. AR & AC were in a solid groove.

I don’t know how many more tricks are in TR’s bag, but I’m hoping he continues the surprises for Saturday.

Here's my video of the crazy sound happenings, complete with fire alarm lights around 4:45 (and eventually rocking out restored a little bit after that):

He was seated directly in front of me at the balcony with his wife and three daughters.
All 5 front rows of the 303 section were guestlist.

I've never experienced a crowd quite like last night. That was probably the roughest NIN show I have been to by a pretty good margin. Fun, but challenging and mildly anger inducing at times!

Wow, I felt the opposite. I was about halfway back in the pit, and everyone just seemed kind of ho hum. Even the mosh circle that occasionally broke out just seemed like a dozen 35-40 year-olds walking in a circle halfheartedly shoving each other.

Did anyone else who picked up the show poster get an unnumbered version? Mine is signed but not numbered. So strange.

Were you slightly left of center? Because that’s what it looked like. Just a handful of people pushing and crowding.

I bought two, one for me and one for my friend who was holding my spot in the balcony. One was numbered, one was not. Both are signed. Never had that happen before.

I think maybe you were nearby where I was cause I was next to the two elbowing assholes and I had to be defensive the whole night. I was like third from rail and I have to defend, push away two assholes that were trying to elbow me out their way to rail. I’m a 5’4 woman, pushing away and elbowing two 6 feet dudes who can clearly see the stage just as well if they were behind me. So glad that I got VIP GA for Saturday so I can get rail. I’m just really frustrated cause those asswipes kind of ruined my night as I wanted to enjoy the show but NOOO I have to be defensive and aggressive against two asswipes the whole night so they don’t elbow me in the face. And now my arm is sore this morning.

    END RANT.

All in all it was a very good show, was excited to hear TDTWWWA, The Frail and The Wretched, a lot of Year Zero era songs, brought me back to the LITS tour in 2008 (when I first saw NIN). And I got to record Only, then I sent it to my mother (she’s not a NIN fan but she only likes “Only” lol)
    ALSO:
Does anyone have a recording of the Bowie cover “I can't give everything away” that Trent did last night? It was my first time hearing it and I wasn’t expecting it to hit me in the feels but it did. Beautiful cover. Had me misty eyed AF.

I don’t know if the mix was different or if it wasn’t coming through when I was up front, but the blend of TR’s & Bowie’s vocals was superb. I really hope a perfect professional mix shows up during the festivals (assuming that will be one of the other few times he’ll do it again).

Also, AC didn’t use the “Sunspots” tease during the new arrangement of “Sanctified.” Either it was a Tension era special, or they’ll play it tonight (here’s hoping).

This was a blast tonight even with the sound cutting out. I felt the energy was much higher with the band than Wednesday night and look forward to tonight’s show!

Side Note: A big FUCK YOU to the cunt who was bitching in the merch line about someone cutting in front of you. That person was there the whole time and you know it.

Friday night was my 7th time seeing NIN but the first time seeing them by myself without a group of friends, my mom or my girlfriend. Even though this set lacked the deep cut, fan service of Wednesday and Saturday’s songs, they still gave it everything they had and played with the confidence of a well seasoned touring machine. You could tell Trent was having a good time, cracking jokes about the lack of encore the night before.

With the stark lighting and presentation, when you strip it all back, what’s left is the focus on the chemistry of the band playing together. A real band playing instruments in 2018, imagine that. If they were going to make a AATCHB type live document of this tour, they should do something close to this. 22 songs, all essential. Branches/Bones would be the perfect opening track for a live album. I was happy to see Closer and Hurt make a return after being absent on Wednesday. Hurt never gets old.

I got to the venue around 4 and was able to get much closer than the 13th, only 3 rows back from the rail. Closest I have been to the band I think other than 2nd row once at Red Rocks. From that distance, I could hear all of The Frail/The Wretched coming from the stage and didn't know anything was wrong with the smoke alarms until reading about it after. I guess I got lucky. I had an amazing time and was just as excited if not more waiting in line speculating what they were going to play. The “singles” I most want to see at this point that I haven’t already are Sin (how hasn’t this happened), Happiness in Slavery, WITT, Starcuckers, Deep, and all the WT era bangers I missed before I started going to see them like Love Is Not Enough, Line Begins to Blur You Know What You Are? that seem to have basically been retired. Sanctified, TDTWWA, and Background World were my favorite parts of the night. And I'm glad I got to see I Can't Give Everything Away.

Between the first 2 shows, I think only 6 songs played were the same? I definitely felt like I got to see two very different shows and I was content on missing a third. In hindsight I should have made it work but life isn’t pokemon and I can’t always catch them all. Still very jealous of that Fragile tease, Ahead of Ourselves and Digital being played on Saturday. Disappointed with the lack of new/exclusive merch but hopefully its just being saved for C+B+I. I got a Hard Rock casino shirt instead. Next time I’ll be seeing both Red Rocks shows in September, row 10 and 16!

I still have complex feelings about this show after sitting with the experience for a few days. It was my 17th or 18th time seeing them, and frankly I think I'm just a spoiled brat. In the moment of the show I enjoyed almost every second of it (gotta admit that the fire alarm stuff took me out of the show for a bit), but after seeing the set-lists for Wednesday (went into Friday night blind) and then Saturday I still can't help but feel butt-hurt from all the interesting stuff they got. The last time I saw them was at the Aftershock Festival in Sacramento and there were only 6 songs different between then and the 15th's show, with none of the differences being new or deep. Aside from Less Than and Burning Bright, it felt like a really really good "greatest hits" of live NIN, which is NOT a bad thing, just not what I was hoping for.

When the first two shows were announced, I jumped on it right away and got the vacation approval to be out in time to catch the Friday show, but once Saturday's was announced a while later it was just too close and it couldn't fit into my schedule. I know I'll get over it eventually and that the only reason I'm feeling a little "meh" is because I love NIN so much and want to see absolutely everything they do.

I know I probably sound stupid, "boo hoo, you got to see a kick ass NIN show". I'll shut up now.

No, I'm with you. I posted here my feelings about Friday's show. I would have been really annoyed if Friday was the only show I got to see. I don't know if they decided to to play a really festival-friendly set that night or if it just ended up that way with them shuffling around so many songs among all three nights.

I've also seen 17 NIN shows, and I think we're hitting that point where it just takes more to excite us. It doesn't make us whiny or elitist; it's just the sad truth that it's starting to become more familiar than we'd like.

My first NIN show was in 1995. I had to wait five years to see them again in 2000. Not only was it amazing seeing them again after so long, but there was a ton of new material, new band members and an amazing new production. After that, same thing. A five year wait to see them again in 2005 - lots of new material, new band members, amazing new production.

Now, with the fact that I live in LA and with their new touring philosophy, I saw them three times last year, twice this year, and will see them five or six more times in December. Granted, it's my choice to go to many shows, and I've generally learned how to appropriately manage expectations, but there's always the hope that we can be surprised. Fortunately, that's what Saturday was for me (especially after Friday), so now I'm looking forward to December, but again, I feel your pain for only making it to the casual fan night of the three.

View from the soundboard when Atticus set the place on fire during The Great Destroyer.

"System muted by life safety." - I couldn't have found better words myself. The new version of The Great Destroyer is fire.
