Instant pre-order! Hate that Dais makes the most limited version bundles only, so I went for the clear blue. Pumped for this and the VR Sex record.

new track is a snooze, i'm afraid. i liked the band for a bit there, but find 1. the gimmick wearing extremely thin and 2. the music to not evolve in any meaningful way, which basically has them recording the same song for the third album in a row. it's already a tune that i've heard on a first-wave shoegaze record in 1991, and a hundred times since.

edit: rest of the album seems better, on first listen.

I mulled over the red copy for too long; Spotify had a Drab Majesty song on my weekly playlist today that got me back in the mood, but clear was the only one still available this morning. Regardless, I jumped on it!

IDK. everyone was like. OMG the next Cure.

I've seen these guys a few times.

I didn't get the next cure out of them. I tried listening to the album, multiple times, and i was so bored. There are no actual songs here.

I REALLY want to like this band. but I just... don't... :/

i don't think they sound like the cure at all, for what it's worth. maybe it set your expectations on the wrong track?

This track is so damn good. Was pumped to get a pre-order on that transparent red for the new record ... it's easily my favorite album cover of the year so far.

i really like his new material, it sounds more 1985, his previous album was more 1981/ 1982 slighty post punk sounding

New material sounds a bit like the Replacements or mid Echo and the Bunnymen. i like these bands that are sort of doppelgangers of older artists he reminds me of another group called Ringo Deathstarr who did the same.

They debuted a new song during the current European tour.
I have an iPhone recording of last night in Birmingham for those who cannot wait (send me a PM)... not the best quality though, I’ll try to get a better version tonight in Nottingham

Due to a late start, tonight’ set was shorter than usual. Several songs were skipped, including Ellipsis

I managed to get a better recording of Oxytocin (the song start at around 1.30 min). The official video is reportedly coming soon

I guess Deb's not the sole-vocalist anymore? Either way, digging the hell out of this and cannot wait to have the full record in my hands and ears.

Same here, though being on the west coast dictates that I should see it by about mid 2020.

Finally got around to checking this group out this weekend. I'd heard about them since that Deafheaven tour but never actually heard them. But damn, I feel kinda stupid for sleeping on it now because this is goddamn phenomenal stuff. Very Depeche Mode and New Orderish. Is this new album their best one yet or are their previous albums just as good?

In my personal opinion, the first 2 albums are better than this new one. Semantics though, because its all beautiful music. I feel lucky to listen to this band.
