Star Wars: The TV Shows (Spoilers)

Thought about making this thread for a while now. There are threads for every episode, etc. but since the universe is so rich with other content (including a shitload of upcoming one off films like Solo), I figured it'd be worth it to perhaps have a thread outside of the episodic ones for movies, animated series, and so on.

To kick off: Jon Favreau is going to produce and write the first live action SW series for their direct to consumer a la Netflix platform.

Favreau's series will take place seven years after ROTJ, with all new characters.

You’d think they’d have to attempt a live action version at some point. And oh the wrath if they do and fuck it up lol.

That's why they should cast me as the character. Make it happen Disney.

Can we please just pump the brakes on Star Wars for a bit? I’d prefer they just focus on Episode IX. Then I think the world could use a break from Star Wars. This feels like overkill at this point. I’m being rather hypocritical though considering how deeply invested I am with Marvel.

"A breast from Star Wars"? Haha. But yeah, this Boba Fett movie seems stupid. He was in ESB/ROTJ for ten minutes tops. He wasn't THAT great of a character.

Lucasfilm has apparently put all spinoff movies on hold.

Movies potentially impacted are the planned Obi-Wan and Boba Fett films thus far...

Stephen Daldry was going to direct the Obi-Wan film? UGH.... he's the Oscar-bait equivalent to Michael Bay. All style and no substance. I hate that motherfucker.

You apparently never read any of the licensed novels/short stories dealing with Boba Fett prior to Disney's erasure of that material. New Boba Fett is pure shit; old Boba Fett is fucking awesome. The story from the jabba's palace anthology about how he escapes from the Sarlacc? One of my favorite things ever in life.

No, I haven't read the books. I've heard some of them are quite good.

So... the rumored Boba Fett movie/show isn't actually about Boba Fett? I hope the new character is almost as cool! I'm looking forward to learning more about this one.

I'm more excited for this than I would be for a Boba Fett movie. After the garbage that was Solo, I'm done with the piggybacking of old, established characters. Give me something new please!

Holy shit 'The Mandalorian' is really pulling out all the stops when it comes to casting. Now we've got Giancarlo Esposito, Werner Herzog, and Carl Weathers.

    Herzog? Really?

Pedro Pascal (Narcos) has been cast in the title role as a lone Mandalorian gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy. He is joined by Gina Carano (Deadpool), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Emily Swallow (Supernatural), Carl Weathers (Predator), Omid Abtahi (American Gods), Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man) and Nick Nolte (Affliction).

Werner Herzog as The Zec is one of my favorite villains/performances in recent memory, so I'm all for him acting more!

It is true when you realize that it'll be another three years before we see another one in 2022 and then another in '24 and '26. Three year break following TROS, and then two years between each one. They listened and slowed it down. What else are they supposed to do other than just not make any more?
