Both vinyl and tape are analog and lossless, unless someone record MP3 files to the format. With the right quality tape and noise suppression, tapes can sound just as good, if not as good as CDs. Sadly, the industry chose to go with cheaper tape with more noise and sold cheap, shitty players without decent noise suppression types, thus compounding the negative qualities of tape.
