So you can afford that sweet tax break for the rich but screw the COLA increases for people who actually work. Nice.

    Oh shit! It's on now.

Y'all? A LOT of shit is converging.
It's customary for an investigation like the Russia Probe to "go dark" for 60 days before an election.

But I'm thinking Mueller plays his hand after the midterm, and I think it's gonna be the beginning of the end.

Meanwhile I heard trump threatening to take over the investigation and dropping hints about firing sessions.

And Giuliani is apparently working on a rebuttal. There's a LOT of intense news this afternoon and it's very exciting.

It's a good quote, but unlikely that Twain actually is the original source.

i found something the idiot said in Evansville particularly funny " they want to raid your medicare to pay for their socialism". i find a few things interesting about this 1). notice the ownership in the phrase particularly yours and their. 2). fox keeps promoting the word socialism. with democrats and particularly Sanders supporters. the bill he promoted, was a medicare for all. people on it love medicare love it that's why he says demo crate's are going to take it away. the use of the word "socialism" as a bad thing. i think of fox and the republican party as the party of fear

Democrats came out swinging on the Kavanaugh hearing this morning. This was a coordinated effort with Schumer to slow this process down, especially since the White House gave them ammunition by releasing 42k documents last night -

    JFC, indeed.

Cohn, a Wall Street veteran, tried to tamp down Trump’s strident nationalism regarding trade. According to Woodward, Cohn “stole a letter off Trump’s desk” that the president was intending to sign to formally withdraw the United States from a trade agreement with South Korea. Cohn later told an associate that he removed the letter to protect national security and that Trump did not notice that it was missing.

^^ I can actually understand that one. You've already spent the morning in a vicious hearing and accosted by protesters, now someone you've never met before is attempting to make physical contact with you? I think I'd be a little thrown off by that too.

I'm not sure i buy that white power symbol thing, it's like people looking for triangles and owls in everything thinking they're going to find the illuminati.

It's one of those things where if you look hard enough you're going to start seeing it everywhere.

It's as real as you want it to be. If it fits your worldview that these people are pushing a white power/supremacist view onto the country, sure she did. If you think that everything is sunshine and rainbows and she's just awkwardly sitting there with her hands in a weird position, then it's fine.

I tried to make those two choices neutral, I don't know if I succeeded.

What even is a white power sign and why does it exist. Is it like devil horns? If you look at it logically it is a ridiculous thing as white people do have all the power, the thing is white people are a dying breed as they aren’t having all the kids, white women are realising life is good you don’t have to spawn kids all the time and fuck your career up. This is why in my opinion all these pro life people are about, they’re genuinely worried that white people will die off or this Judeo Christian thing (which is stupid anyway because Jesus was a brown person surely?)But honestly does it matter if that does happen? Life goes on and if it’s Muslim or Hispanic who cares really? That is what Steve Bannon seems to be all about anyway, but fuck is he a good advert for the Christian human race? He looks like a meths addict

Call me stupid if you want but I did not know there was a white power sign so if it is indeed what she is doing, it's totally lost on me.

Also: I need to buy Bob Woodward's book. Bigly.

Whether or not she was intentionally signaling white power, but whatever she is doing with her hand has to be intentional. That's not a resting position for your hand, even if it's cramped up.

I posted this video before, but it gives a great detailed explanation of the alt-right/white nationalists appropriating seemingly benign gestures or symbols to bait the opposition whilst having enough wiggle room to deny promoting/communicating white supremacy.

^^ I love Contrapoints and highly recommend that to anyone who hasn't seen it.

Also like, there's this weird thing about like... sure the okay hand might get introduced to troll but then alt-right types will ironically adopt trolling things and signaling and it's just so weird, so who knows
