Your Best NIN Playlist Transitions
I've been slowly editing and tweaking a "Definitive NIN" playlist on my Spotify since December. The idea was to capture all aspects of NIN in one playlist, but more importantly, it had to flow. I think I've done a pretty good job, but some transitions are definitely a little jarring, and I felt using album transitions was cheating so I avoided it where possible.
I'm sure I'm not the only one here who's had this idea. After all, we're all maniacs. So what are some NIN playlist transitions you're particularly proud of and want to share?

I've found that
we're in this together into copy of a goes well
as well as burning bright into head down
-
I still remember this being mentioned a while back, and I'd actually still agree with it.
Closer into Every Day Is Exactly The Same. It also always helped that I loved both songs anyway.
-
Despite having little in common lyrically, I find that the soundscape at the very end of A Minute To Breathe crossfades very well with Into The Void.
-
I've added Burn and The Perfect Drug to my Downward Spiral playlist. Burn is in between MOTP and Closer and it work so fucking good. The end piano of March.....to the crazed opening of Burn. Then the end the wall of noise building building building right into boom tsst. I love it. The Perfect Drug I put between Big Man With a Gun and A Warm Place. It's the proper version with the extended ending, from the WITT single.

Pinion before A Perfect Drug works for me... (I've heard Wish a few too many times....)

I've done a couple mixes in my days.
Here are a couple of my favorite album jumps:
07 Ghosts 1 > Ringfinger
Me, I'm Not > Discipline
In Two > Happiness in Slavery
Wish > The Perfect Drug

I made a playlist for a friend recently, and these were the transitions I found particularly pleasing:
Head Like A Hole -> The Good Soldier
Closer -> The Hand That Feeds
The Only Time -> Satellite (probably my favorite)
Others I like that are less of a straight transition and more just a nice flow from one to the next:
Something I Can Never Have -> Closer
The Hand That Feeds -> Me, I'm Not

The Day The World Went Away -> Adrift And At Peace
-
Some bonus ones I found on a mix, this time jumping from different Reznor projects:
BBB (HTDA) > Vessel
WTF! (Saul Williams) > Me, I'm Not
-
The following assume the use of 'cropped' versions (i.e. from singles, or otherwise without 'holdover' from other tracks as on the albums):
– Just Like You Imagined -> We're in This Together (static into static!)
– The Day the World Went Away (Quiet) -> The Frail
– Mr. Self Destruct -> The Beauty of Being Numb -> Eraser (probably obvious though)
-
big ups on JLYI into WITT. I've used that pairing for years.
