Okay, here are my thoughts after a few listens:

This is definitely the kind of NIN song that falls low on my list of favorites- Not So Pretty Now, The Beginning Of The End, The Hand That Feeds, etc. That's mostly do to the vocal delivery, though; I do really enjoy the music itself.

I think the big thing for me is that I listened to NTAE the whole way through twice and still had no idea what it was, where about a minute into my first minute of Less Than, I kind of went, "oh, okay. I get it."

NTAE is a David Lynch movie, while Less Than is a decent summer blockbuster.

But Less Than is not the entire album. I'm sure Add Violence will be a great listen as a whole like NTAE was.

I'd be happy to go this weekend if we actually thought there would be something to find and not just that the location tag is there incidentally.

Do we have a transcript or bullet points from the interview? I tried listening live, but the Apple Music app streams like garbage on my phone

Oh, definitely. Especially since it says it's both more accessible and more impenetrable. What I loved about NTAE, though, was that a 5 song EP meant they could cut the fat and not have to worry about singles or making you feel comfortable for an hour. I was hoping that meant all the EP's would follow suit. Although, since it sounds like the plan is for the EP's to eventually make an album, it makes sense there'd be a single in there somewhere.

    From what I remember:

    - EP3 is in its infancy and may or may not come out this year depending on what other film projects they take
    - The EP's may eventually take shape as a complete album
    - Touring next year will probably happen
    - The live show is minimalist but in a way that TR finds particularly exciting

Download Foobar and convert your FLACs to 320kb .mp3's.

Download xACT, should be freeware as far as I remember - you should be able to turn it into wave, which iTunes can play (and convert).

Thank you Mr. Reznor. This new song is so awesome I completely forgave the FD fiasco and preordered the bundle.

I like the song well enough I get squeamish when Trent makes allusions to Chem trails.

the video looks great but it is also just Mariqueen playing video games.

Heh, I was actually amused that the video itself features plenty of analog CRT closeups of the game. Lots of visible pixels, etc. Rob may be gone but apparently it'll be awhile before that aesthetic's out of TR's system.

You can't judge the whole ep on one song. Imagine if we got dear world (which I love by the way) before burning bright. Everyone would say it's really nothing new. I've been at work and only heard up to the chorus but I like what I hear. If the NTAE concept holds true, every song will have a different sonical vibe while retaining cohesiveness. I'm way excited. The note changes were surprising to me, in a really good way. Undecided on the portion of the video I saw though.

    Good, because there aren't any.

"Needful" is what's in the official lyric embedded inside the track's tags.

You can always justify the missile trails across the sky. AGAIN.

So powerful and meaningful in today's world. Amazing lyrics.

Video also comes with less than easy to catch NIN logos. Gonna sit this through frame by frame, I think.
