Tonight's NIN show = Business As Usual 2017
Tonight's NIN show = Business As Usual 2017
I don't know why I bother trying to convince myself I'm not going to watch the feeds. They're just too tempting. (worth it, but spoilers, every time.) You'd think after this long, I would be able to resist.
I just feel like I've seen this same show at 20 other Nails gigs. A bunch of the warhorses, a couple of new tracks from whatever album they're promoting, and maybe a surprise or two. I hate being able to predict almost exactly what my favorite band is going to be playing on any given night.
Still, that Bowie cover was absolutely stirring, and Burn Bright was pretty fucking godhead live. And I'd still rather watch this band perform live over any other ever, so..
tbh I only watched because I knew I won't be seeing them at a festival, and the proper tour will be different than the festival shows.
It was fun chatting with a bunch of you real-time in there. Except for you, Tony. (naw j/k)
No seriously though that Parasite "cover" was out of control.
Taking the the rose colored glasses off. I do not know how this is going to play at festivals but on a half stage setup in BFE Bakersfield that shit was amazing.
Gotta love the time difference between my place and California. Just woke up an hour ago (8 AM) and immediately tuned in to The Lovers.
Didn't know the screaming during Hurt is still a thing in 2017. What gives?
Final thought: of all the new songs, I was sure She's Gone Away would be played. Alas.

Damn. This opening is POWERFUL: https://www.alternativenation.net/wa...comeback-show/
For some perspective here, I don't think the shows this year will be fully representative of the setlist next year. As TR has said these initial shows are in a way premature, where the planning was supposed to go in to the tour next year. So I'm not surprised they'd be relying so heavily on their "classics", at this point, while they work in more of the new material for 2018 (some of which hasn't even been written yet :-)
I'm blown away by The Lovers on the EP now - what was it like live? I missed it on the stream
See for yourself, 53 min in :-) https://www.facebook.com/jami.raglan...00528853195142
I kinda effed up on Less than but just tilt your head.. uploading bowie video next
You can watch it here too: https://www.alternativenation.net/wa...comeback-show/
Did not get a good view, but it looks like Atticus has no stage presence lol
And heres youtube videos. excuse the bouncing on this one, people waving hands and whatnot and the lighting was off so hard to get focus. but the rest are solid.
re: somewhat damaged on the setlist
hopefully they rehearsed full intro version and not the bleep intro version again
I cant give everything away
Less Than
That frickin' Bowie remix is from TRAR after all. Obviously it wasn't that far-fetched, but I fucking called it. I know why I fell in love with it back when it showed up a couple of months ago.
I wouldn't be surprised if that one won't be played again. I'm so jealous.
Trent looks like he rolled out of bed lol
Do you guys think the departure of Rob Sheridan has something to do with the lack of visuals in the show?
Bowie, sorry for the darkness. It really wasnt that bright but.
