It’s been 10 years- Lollapalooza 2009- since I saw Snoop my first and only time and agreed. Dude knows how to throw a party. Was awesome, and I never saw a bigger crowd than him before (The Killers were the headliner that night). Can’t even imagine how empty the north end of Grant Park was that day, don’t remember who was playing at the time.

Looking forward to the new Danny Brown. The 2 singles he has out are good. QTip produced a lot of it from what I understand.

The new Conway is out but I havent listened to it yet. Those Griselda guys are seriously saturating the market.

So, uhhhh thoughts on Biggie getting inducted to the R&RHOF? I never cared for him, and discography is pretty limited. This wasn’t like NWA either where he was some pioneer to gangsta rap/production. There’s Wu Tang who did a better job of East coast rap/hip hop IMO.

Fair assessment. Consider all the bands that should be there but are not; Kraftwerk, Joy Division. There's a new TR interview about NIN being inducted that touches on that.
Biggie (and Tupac) achieved this mythic status after being gunned down in their prime. I have to assume that has a lot to do with it. I certainly don't think he is undeserving but you're right, WTC and NWA did more to push the envelope than he.

Biggie heralded a bazillion imitators. He married the street rapper/true MC with commercial pop success like no one in the genre had done before (yes Diddy had a major hand in that). Biggie is NYC hip hop defined. He also was an absolute maniac on the mic from day one:

For those who are interested, Eminem dropped a brand new surprise album called Music to Be Murdered By. It's produced by Dre and 7 songs in, it already seems better than the last couple of albums to me.

    That's awesome!
I was a little disappointed about the amount of Ghostface on the one album.

Yeah that was a bit odd. And the most recent album is only like half czarface tracks and half just 7L & Esoteric. I dig it all regardless, as I came into this project as a 7LES fan already.

With the recent Tobacco hype, I wanted to remind you all about this collab. with Aesop Rock

Also, wanted to plug this album, after a week it's still in rotation and has a nice West Coast sound even if it did come out of Minneapolis.
